Works great
I love this antenna, it is low on my roof rack so it doesn't snag bushes off road and the range is great now I can hear everyone and they can hear me. It is worth the extra cost compared to cheaper antennas. I am using it with an H8 TIDRADIO unit.

Better than Chinese random-letter-brands
Worth the price. I got a chance to test it along with some random “GMRS-tuned” Chinese knock-off and this performed better. It had about 15-20% better performance than a 17” Chinese knock-off “whip” antenna. The low profile ensures it’s more durable and less susceptible to branch snags, etc.

Smaller size, Same range
I just received the Midland MXTA25 Ghost Antenna, and so far, I am very pleased with it. The antenna feels well made, has a clean and compact design, and looks great installed on my vehicle. At only 3.5 inches tall, it is much less noticeable than a traditional antenna and should be less likely to catch on branches or other objects. I have heard many good things about this antenna, so I am looking forward to testing its range and performance compared to my other antennas. Installation was simple, and my first impressions are very positive. I will update my review after I have had more time to test it in different areas.

Great-looking antenna with solid performance — exactly what we wanted!
We picked up the Midland MXTA25 3DB MicroMobile Compatible antenna knowing we’d lose a little distance compared to a larger antenna, but honestly, we couldn’t be happier. The sleek, low-profile design looks awesome on our setup and fits perfectly without drawing too much attention. Functionality has been great — it delivers clear communication for the distances we typically cover on the trails, and we love how it balances performance with a clean, compact style. Installation was quick and easy too. If you want something that looks sharp and works well without a giant antenna sticking up, this is a fantastic choice!

Easy install and works well...
I wanted a low profile, discreet antenna option for my GMRS on my Gladiator. This works well for my needs as I don't use GMRS for long range communication. I use it for overland caravaning and for communication with a spotter who has a handheld radio while off roading. Works well and would definitely recommend for those who want something small and unobtrusive.

These excel for their intended purpose, which isn't your base-station.
Plain & simple, anyone that claims these things perform terribly, either 1, have no idea what they are talking about, much less what they are doing. Or 2, you have faulty equipment, otherwise, and you're blaming it on a concept. Not using a ground-plane on these is NOT an option. Pony-up for a decent ground-plane, or, if you have the aptitude, make one yourself...simple 8" X 8" piece of sheet-metal would suffice....even smaller, if needed. Also, ground your mount to your chassis...doesn't require anything fancy. this "ghost" antenna gets out as well as most 36" whips...especially in the forest and general off-road. Yes, out on the salt flats a 3db ghost will suck compared to a 6db 36" whip but, if you were just riding out in the dunes and/or desert, you likely wouldn't be looking at one of these in the first place....they are purpose-driven....where low profile is king. Buy it if you're under canopy and cluttered terrain, or, keep buying busted whips. THIS IS NOT YOUR BASE ANTENNA, so don't expect it to be.

One of the best antennas I own
First off, I'm an experienced amateur radio operator as well as two way radio operator. This antenna is flat out awesome! I get just as far reach with it as I do with the Browing 32" dual band antenna. Another advantage is no hitting the drive through awnings or tree limbs. I'm going to get another one for my wife's Jeep.

Great Antenna
I installed this on the roof of my SXS with a small ground plane under it. The SWR was very low and It gets out just fine. Some said Ghost antennas don't work but I beg to differ. I talked to another radio 16 miles away. Very high quality from Midland. Easy to mount as works great with my Midland mobile radio
