Goldeneye 64. Yet another amazing game from Rare for the N64. Whether you're a Bond fanatic or not, you'll definitely like this game. The game's plot pretty much follows the movie exactly, but with some changes here and there. I won't go into detail about it, though. You'd like to know about different things of the game, right? Right. Well, let's start off with the music. Oh my God, the music. It's amazing. Very well done and very memorable. Especially the first level's music. No matter how much I listen to it, I never get bored. In fact, I seem to love it more and more, no matter how many times it loops (which is every several minutes or so). In short, the music is great.Secondly, let's go to the graphics. Now, the graphics for its time, which is 1997 (two years after the movie, in case you didn't know), are really good. Nothing mindblowingly special, but they're really good. When you shoot an enemy, you can see blood where you shot him/her, which is pretty cool, too. 007's character model is well done, it doesn't necessarily feel ''thrown together'' and cheap. His model looks like it was worked on, but like I said before, it's 1997, so don't expect anything mindblowing. Overall, good character models and good graphics for the various areas you're put in.Next up, the weapons. The weapons are really awesome. You first start off with Bond's traditional PPK (silenced)pistol. Of course, you get many other guns that are also very cool, too. With a cheat, you can get every weapon in the game and judging from what I had seen using this cheat..the variety is amazing. I won't spoil anything for you, but there's a LOT of cool weapons. No disappointment here either. The difficulty. Like most games, there are difficulty settings. What's cool about Goldeneye's difficulty setting is that it also alters how many mission objectives you are given. Very, very nice feature. If you get a little bored with one difficulty setting and what a harder setting with more things to do, you get two more steps up. Very, very cool. Now, straying away from the actual setting choice just a bit, there is one level that is extremely dark and hard to see, and in this level you have to find a certain area and then make it back to the start and do something else. This is on the easiest setting. Sound easy? Well, you better guess again. This level is darker than night and no matter how many enemies you kill, they're harder to get rid of than cockroaches..except you can actually get rid of cockroaches, or have a chance to. These things really ruin the whole level for me. It's like you're set in Hell. I had to use a couple of cheats just to pass the level and even when you first start the level, you get ambushed by several enemies within seconds, so you better have some quick cheat-activating fingers if you want to make it through. Unless you're a god at this level, you'll probably need a bit of help. But from what I have experienced in the game, this is probably the only huge con to it. There's also another level where you have to find Natalya (a main character in the game), which can be very confusing, but it is definitely better than the previous level described. The gameplay and controls are also great. It may take you a few minutes to get the hang of it, but you'll learn them quickly. The controls are very responsive and great. Gameplay is great. Absolutely NO letdown here.Goldeneye is also highly praised for many of its traits. Zoomable sniper rifles, stealth traits and mission objectives that change depending on the difficulty setting like I have already mentioned before. It deserves its praise, too, because of how much of an influential, important game it is. Before this, there wasn't much like it. There was Doom 64, but it didn't have the same traits as Goldeneye. Goldeneye 64 definitely deserves its praise for being one of the greatest games on the N64 (and basically in general). It deserves a special place in your N64 collection, unless you're not a big FPS fan, then that's okay, too. It's your preference. The game also has a multiplayer mode, which I have not played it, but you should play it if you've got a friend who has nothing else to do and is open to the offer.Overall, the game is amazing, and that's an understatement. Rare outdid themselves once again, and this game proves it. It's just a game that you must play if you have a Nintendo 64 around, or one that's on its way to your house right now. Just amazing. That's all I have to say and all I really can say. It's just an amazing game.Pros:-Good graphics, character models and the settings of levels.-Choice of difficulty setting and the varying mission objectives depending on the setting is a really amazing feature.-Variety of amazing weapons to obtain.-Extremely fun gameplay and levels.-Controls are great and very responsive.-Game autosaves, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to save anything.Cons:-The dark level I had described is hell to play through. There may be one or two levels overall that will annoy you, but not many.(Review written entirely from my opinion and view/experience of the game)

One of the best, most innovative shooters of all time; A Must Have!
GoldenEye 007 is not only the best movie tie-in game of all time, but it is perhaps the most influential first-person shooter ever to hit the gaming-console market. If you aren't aware of the plot of this game that's not a problem, because essential it is the same as the popular James Bond movie, GoldenEye, which was released in 1995- two years prior to this game's release. This is a game that is filled with techniques and styles that would be mimicked in many future games to come, and it gives the player a wide variety of objectives, and difficult challenges. The A.I. is smart (especially on higher difficulty settings) and the environments are complex enough to provide entertainment, as well as difficulty to any gamer. The introduction of logical hit-points on your enemies is a great feature. Even bosses in this game can be taken down with a well-aimed shot to the head. It is this type of realism that really makes you feel like your James Bond and that you can sneak in, sneak out, covertly taking out henchmen as you go, or springing alarms and having to go through massive shootouts. Because of this there are many ways to beat the game, and limitless possibilities for how you accomplish your tasks. AKA: You can take easy ways or hard ways of beating levels...and if you don't have a strategy guide you'll have to find out those paths by yourself (which, I might add, is incredibly fun if you want to waste a day away). This is one of those games that the more you play it the more you're able to value its contributions to the gaming industry. Each time I play it I notice aspects that have been replicated in many following FPS games. So if you have a Nintendo 64 go ahead and dust that sucker and order a used copy of GoldenEye 007, because trust me, as a Bond fan, and a casual gamer I can say that this game is highly recommended for all those who want to step into the shoes of James Bond, or just have an awesome, intense gaming experience.(Also make sure to look out for its sister game, Perfect Dark, which is also on the N64, following the same controls, and very similar weapon uses.)

Golden Eye 007
After digging through some old boxes i came across my N64, 2 controllers, a rumble pack and just about every game known to man EXCEPT this one! I was a little more than hasty in trying to find the cheapest way possible to find this game. Well i don't really like buying USED products over the internet but i will admit i was a little desperate. All in all the game works like a charm and i even bought it used through a place fulfilled by amazon and it still came in great condition and got it for 15 bucks, but man the memories this game brings back are worth Ten-Fold what i spent hahah but yes i recommend this game to anyone really fun and some what difficult on the higher modes (00 Agent) which allows for hours of gameplay but then again maybve i just suck at the game. Thanks again amazon for not letting me down i will defintely be buying more in the future.Your Fellow Amazoner,ABandApart01

Really awesome people
Game works perfectly! Came with a thank you mint! That was cute. They also sent a information letter just incase i had any problems with them or their product. Which I did not! One thing that i would change but nothing crazy. being you have no direct way to buy from you? Or maybe you do and I don't know how to. So super satisfied and super cute that they took the time to have a mint and a piece of paper with information. I would definitely buy from them again

I loved the variety of products available. Will definitely shop again.
Upon first seeing GoldenEye at the E3 convention, I was underwhelmed. I mean, here was yet another first-person shooter, with the only features setting it apart being the neat-looking sniper rifle and the fact that it was based on a movie that just about everyone had forgotten about. I couldn't have been more wrong. GoldenEye not only lives up to the \"quality, not quantity\" mantra that Nintendo continues to tout, it surpasses it. The sheer joy experienced by putting a bullet in some Russian's head with the sniper rifle, from 200 yards, never gets old, and the countless mission objectives spread across 12 different environments and three difficulty levels ensure that the game has the staying power of - dare I say it - Mario 64.
GoldenEye closely mirrors the plot of the 17th James Bond movie, starting with the daring bungee jump sequence and ending with a showdown between 007 and Alec Trevelyan atop a huge antenna. In between, you'll shoot scads of soldiers, plant explosives, escape from a train seconds before it explodes, and execute other decidedly Bond-like maneuvers. The entire game takes place from a Doom-like perspective, except that holding down the R button allows you to aim anywhere on the screen, and with the sniper rifle, zoom in for a nice, clean head shot.
The graphics in GoldenEye are incredible. From installations deep under the snow to lush Cuban jungles, each environment looks really good, with a decent amount of detail. There is a slight bit of fogging at the edge of your view, but hey, St. Petersburg is a foggy place. The sniper rifle alleviates some of the fog, enabling you to zoom up and peep the action long before the guards are alerted to your presence. Also, the characters in the game look really good. When you run into Boris, he actually looks like Alan Cumming. The only character who doesn't transfer favorably into the 3-D world is Natalya, who looks a little too square.
The music in GoldenEye is absolutely perfect, and adds a lot of ambience to the game. For instance, one of the later levels starts in an elevator, complete with laid-back elevator music. When you exit the elevator, the level's real soundtrack kicks in. A minor point, sure, but it demonstrates the detail of the game. The only thing that could make GoldenEye's sound better is the inclusion of speech.
