Mavic Yksion Pro UST Tire Black, 25mm

After riding for about six months I was pretty happy with the tires. One reason I bought them was the perceived benefit of a "system" where the tire and rim are meant to fit together. So the tire developed a cut a few weeks back and the cut started getting bigger. Decided to replace with same 25mm that the wheels came with. Getting the damaged tire off was no problem. However, the idea that a Mavic Pro UST tire can be put on Mavic Cosmic UST carbon rim "by hand, no tools needed" is absurd. I cannot get the tire remounted even WITH tools. I have to see if my local bike shop can get it on, but then what happens out on the road? It's now a headache but I have to try and find a tubeless tire that actually fits better than the supposed "perfect fit".

We've ridden bikes for over 15 years. Always used clincher tires with tubes. In December we decided to give the Mavic Ksyrium Elite UST wheels a try. We purchased 2 sets both front and rear. We decided to go ahead and give the Yksion Pro UST tubeless tires a try since they were included with the wheel sets and WOW!! What a difference no tubes makes. The bike is faster, the spin up is better and the ride is so smooth. We had to add the silicone to the tires every few weeks as it can dry out. Here in Colorado, it makes a difference to have the silicone in the tires since we have the tire piercing goat heads here on all sidewalks along the trails we ride. We didn't get any flats using the silicone.
