The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Rise and Shine) Hardcover – Picture Book, October 15, 1981

This is a classic book and the perfect baby shower gift. It is heavy-duty cardboard and looks like it will stand the test of time. Delivery was speedy. I'm happy with my purchase.

The illustrations are bright and beautiful, and the story is simple yet so engaging. It’s the perfect mix of fun and educational—teaching days of the week, numbers, and even a bit about the life cycle of a butterfly. The interactive pages with the little holes keep kids curious and entertained, and the message of growth and transformation is so sweet. I had this book as a child, and now sharing it with my own child has been such a special experience. If you’re building a library for your baby, toddler, or gifting a book to a new parent—this is a must-have.

A child's favorite. I'm a preschool teacher and the children will want this read over and over. Of coure I had to purchase for my first grandson. Love that it is hardcover and durable to little kids' hands.

The media could not be loaded. I love that I can use this book to teach colors, numbers, healthy and unhealthy habits, and of course the lifespan of the caterpillar. This book is a great tool for language development and should be in every toddlers library. Such a classic!

This book has been a family favorite for years. While we previously had a copy of it, my kids read it and handled it so much that after 5 or 6 years, the board book was starting to fall apart. With another baby on the way, I knew I wanted a copy to read to him, too. So it was a no-brainer in getting this one--especially when it was on sale. The size of the book is perfect for little hands, too!
