This replacement part is far superior to the original part that came with my ice chest many years ago. Now I’m good for many more years……..

Heavy duty cable to hold the lid onto the cooler. Easy to replace old plastic and go heavy duty.

These are a good quality cable however they were a tad bit short for my purpose. I had to relocate one of the screws in order to allow the lid to lean back more to keep the lid from slamming shut. The wind would blow the lid shut at the most inopportune time. I also installed both cables on my large chest. The original design was for one strap on the right side..

The Stainless Cooler Lid Strap Replacement for Igloo Coolers is a great idea and a great product. But they are to long. In the pictures you can see the different. Two exactly the same Igloo coolers. one with the stainless steel replacement strap. One with the original plastic strap. I do not like the way the lid opens level with the coolers and flops so far back. It puts a lot of stress and strain on both the lid and the inside of the coolers. if you look at the pictures, I have already Gorilla Glued to repair both of the ice chest where the strap attached to the cooler.

Purchased for my igloo cooler. Perfect length, make sure you use the hardware supplied with the cables. Standard igloo hardware pull through the cable.Worth the money easy to install.

Fits and works great

I got tired of the blowing back sue to plastic strap that came with cooler. Replaced with the ss straps and no more issues. I bought a second set for a live well lid/cover on my boat. Great product.

The standard plastic strap that Igloo ships with its coolers will break. No doubt about that. When ours did, I'm glad I found these metal ones. The only issue is that they're longer than the strap that came on our big chest cooler. I tied a knot in the middle, and that took up enough slack to keep the lid from dropping too far back (and now sitting just past upright, so it stays open without bumping into other things).One other note is that the screws included could use a slightly larger head so that they don't end up inside the loop. One end let go after I tightened it because the screw head worked its way into the silicone loop, which then let the loop pop off. The key is not to tighten them down too much, which squishes and widens the loop enough to slip over the screw head. Would just be nice if the screws had a slightly larger head, or maybe came with a washer.
