Fantastic little lighter!
This is the tiniest lighter you will ever find, but it's got a full-sized flame! I love that the o-ring seals the lighter off, so the lighter fluid doesn't evaporate away before you go to use it.I have another tiny pill-case the same size, and the other day, I discovered that it had unscrewed and dropped onto the floor. While this hasn't happened with my lighter, I want to caution anyone who buys it to make sure it stays in a pocket or purse. (I keep my keys on a clip on my belt loop during the day at work). I'm not saying this lighter will unscrew and fall out, just that anything that has threads can work themselves loose with vibration/movement over time, and this is no exception. I have now moved this where it won't be lost if it unscrews. The price was good, and I can't wait until my next hiking trip to surprise my friends with it.Also, a tip that I recommend for anyone who is a "prepper" or wants to purchase this for emergencies, take an extra flint, and put it inside the lighter, on top the felt that absorbs the lighter fluid. Just remember it's there when you go to refill it so it doesn't drop out. This way, if you have an emergency where you are using this alot, you have an extra flint you can install at the ready.I also found a small "fuel storage" cylinder that is slightly larger than the lighter, that also is keyring based. If you're going to use this for hiking, camping, or prepping, I recommend you get that as well, and clip them together. You will have a spare flint, and plenty of fuel for a good amount of time. And of course, you have to test/use both of them BEFORE the emergency or hiking trip. And I would always have a 2nd or 3rd means of starting a fire as a backup...but this is the greatest 1st method!A few safety items:1) Once filled, you won't be able to get this through airport security. So if you keep it on your key ring and forget about it, it will be confiscated. Also, even empty, they might take it. It's small enough, if you need it when you get there, mail it ahead of time to yourself for "general delivery" at a post office...but it will still have to be unfilled (never filled) with lighter fluid!2) Don't ever use gasoline in this. Gasoline is explosive.3) This isn't a toy, (not for kids obviously) and since it is small with a full-size flame, it will get hot quick. Light what you have to light quickly and blow it out!4) If you clip this on your belt loop or backpack, make sure it is tucked in a pocket as well so it doesn't unscrew and get lost.Oh, and the water-resistant case that they ship it in is fantastic! It isn't super heavy-duty rugged, but it's perfect for using inside your pack to keep stuff dry, say some emergency kindling, or some medications. It helps offset the $10 price and make this item a good value.

A reliable easy to use lighter you always have with you
I received this as a gift, and at first thought I would never use it. I don't smoke, and failed to see how it would be practical as one more thing on a crowded key ring. To humor my family (the gift-givers) I bought some lighter fluid (it ships empty). To fill the lighter, you unscrew the cap, and pull the lighter assembly out of the lower case. The lower case, below the strike wheel is a hollow tube, open on the bottom end, and stuffed with wicking. You then hold the lower tube upside down and saturate the wicking with lighter fluid. There is a screw head extending from the bottom end of the tube to adjust flame size. Slide the tube back into the lower casing, spin the strike wheel with you thumb, and you have fire. The cap seals well with the o-ring, and I have never had any difficulty with fluid spilling even after several months of usage. And...I do use it. Birthday candles, a backyard fire, legal (cough) fireworks on the 4th of July...Pros:- It really is small.- Works great. The lighter has never failed to light.- Nice to have a lighter handy when needed.- Seems well-built. Nothing plastic or cheap about it.Cons:- Chrome finish has lost some luster quickly (the flame, the fluid? what?)- Adjustment screw on bottom takes some fiddling to adjust the way you want it.I definitely enjoy this gift and I'm glad I have it.

Keychain Essential
Let's face it, everyone loves fire. The firestash just makes it much easier to bring the benefits of the flame with you wherever you choose to go. I carry one on my keychain and will continue to do so for as long as it lasts.Once you fill this thing up it will consistantly produce a light. Simply pull up on the striker and the internal fluid storage pod will slide right out, offering storage for the lighter fluid. Spin that wheel with your finger and you will have your fire. Conveniently, you may use all the same parts as a zippo, the flint, wicks, and lighter fluid. This significantly prolongs the life of this lighter as well, it is not disposable by any means. However, this offers one HUGE advantage over a zippo besides its tiny size, it won't dry out on you when you need it. It is sealed water tight with an 0-ring so no moisture can't get in or out unless you want it to. Mind you, do not take this think diving or submerge it for any great length of time. It is water-resistant, not completely waterproof. The finish on this lighter seems rugged and able to withstand the test of time. Yes, it will scratch on a keychain, but it will only be a minor surface blemish and only give it character and prove you use the thing. However, there are downsides to this product. Its small size limits the amount of fluid and consequently, the amount of use you will get without refilling. In addition, the botton of the lighter is rounded off and will not stand on a surface if needed. If you needed two hands to perform a task while needing a light as well, this lighter will have to be propped up somehow. Also, i didn't like the "squared off" keyring, but I don't like any chrome keyrings as they chip and diminish over time. But, this problem is easily fixed with gateclips, carabiners, or other more rugged keyrings.Overall, its a great little lighter. However, the ones sold at countycomm.com are better in my opinion. They have a flat bottom so it can stand and are made of a 300 series stainless steel (a medical quality metal). They even show them being run over repeatedly by a 35,000 pound fire truck and still light up perfectly with no damage at all. About the same price too. But, I still like to give amazon the business as they have been good to me over the years. This is certainly a quality product and excellent choice for a keychain EDC (everday carry).

Cool novelty lighter.
Good novelty lighter for collectors or for campers. Easy and safe to use. Holds a good flame. Easy to fill. Small enough to be put on a key chain or to attach to a backpack.
