It's Great Getting Off America's Plastic Addiction; but don't store them in the light or damp
These bags make me feel better about how we handle our garbage. The bag composts in the trash dump, leaving no damage to the environment.I don't agree that the bags rips easily, as another reviewer said. The bags only rip if you store them in a place where light hits them, and they will begin to degrade and then rip easily, as they were designed to do. So I have them stored under the sink where it's dark and dry. They are very strong and hold a load of garbage so heavy that it's difficult for me to carry it to the trash can, but the bags still don't break. These bags just barely fit in our generous size tall kitchen trash can. When you start throwing the first items in there and they hit the bottom, the sides of the bag can collapse into the can. I was buying the 33 gal bags to eliminate this aggravation, but higher prices made me go back to this 23 gal size and the aggravation of pulling the sides of the bag back up to the top of the can from time to time.

Thin but Mighty
These bags are thinner than a traditional garbage bag but I have had no issue with tearing. They hold a surprising amount of weight in waste too. I love that they are compostable. I’d say as long as you don’t through in pokey/sharp items and don’t put an heavy amount of waste in them, that they’d be a great choice for anyone.

Good for industrial or home use
Countertop food waste bin provided by the city wasn't big enough for our family use so I ended up buying 23 gallon bins for garbage, food waste and recycling. These bags fit the 23 gallon can perfectly, and are sturdy and they meet our city's requirements for compostable material in the green bin.

Seams rip easily...
I have been buying small bio bags for years and thought I would try the larger size for my city compost bin to keep it cleaner. What a disappointment! The seams tear so easily. I am very careful opening the bag prior to inserting and the seams tear prior to placing in the rolling compost bin. I will look for a different brand for my next order. I usually end up wasting one bag as the seam will tear 10 to 14 inches when opening the bag.

Compostable Garbage Bags are the Way!
I love the idea of compostable garbage bags. This was the closest size available for my trash can, but it is way too long. In an abundance of caution, I line the can with 2 of them, which increases my cost. It would be awesome if they came up with a bag that fits the SimpleHuman cans!

Not quite right but hope for the future!
The 23 gallon bag is about 4 gallons too large for the outdoor compostable bag container tha NYC Sanatation Department distributed to all NYC residents recently.I hava already communicated this finding and infornation to BioBag America, in hopes that they would actually consider designing and offering for sale this slightly smaller (19 gallon) version of their compostable bag line.Of course, this bag would afford some savings over the expense of their 23 gallon bag and 4 gallons more physical room than their 15 gallon version.Time will tell if BioBag America will consider my considered request.
