I bought this with a coworker years ago. I think I had this product in my medicine cabinet for four years. The other day my 7 year old daughter came to me that her head won't stop itching. So I got the Liceadex and used it- praying that it would work. After applying the shampoo, I realized that I didn't have the nit comb. So I had to run to Walgreens. By the time I got back it had been almost 40 minutes. I hope nothing happened to her head due to the shampoo being on her head for longer than the directions said. I was able to get out nits and bugs both big and small. I was thankful that the bugs were all dead. When I was a kid my mom would actually squeeze the bugs between her nails until it popped... It was the only way to kill any live bugs. The sound grosses me out.After getting out all the bugs and nits, I took her to get her hair cut and had the hair stylist look through her hair. She didn't find any more. But by the end of the week, she came home with more. Someone else in her school has them....Still waiting for the school nurse to check the other kids in the classroom.

After fighting lice for months because some genius at my daughter's school thought it was a good idea for all of the kids to share the same graduation hat for photos, and trying the normal Rid products without success, we found this.We have been lice free ever since. Need I say more?

I have not used it and hopefully never will. If I do, it would most likely be for my dog. Based on the directions: Apply Gel on sectioned, dry hair from the root of the hair outward, to the tip. Leave in hair for 20 minutes. Comb through sections with a nit comb, starting at the roots, working outward while product is still in the hair and then rinse thoroughly. Inspect hair under a bright light to make sure all debris and nits are gone. Recommended treatment is 4 oz per person with thinner, short to medium length hair. Longer hair may require more Gel per treatment.One bottle will probably not be enough.Smell is really strong, if you wiff it up close, you can smell it with the bottle closed.
