I love this bat house! I discovered that we had bats behind a metal sun on the side of my husband's workshop and thought it must be super hot for them in the summer time....sooo.... I bought this. We absolutely love sitting outside in the early evening and listening to them work their way down and then swoosh out one by one to feast on those pesky mosquitoes! Would definitely recommend for appearance (though I painted it brown to match our trim), build quality, size, functionality, ease of assembly, and value for the money.

After having to return a few bat boxes. because they weren't really cedar, I'm very happy to find that this one actually is ceader. Although having a real cedar bat box isn't a "necessity" it is an important feature to me because of cedar's natural resistance to insects and disease. It is made of solid wood. the wood is not super thick but thick enough to be well constructed. I actually like that It's not terribly thick wood, because it's also not terribly heavy.As advertised, it came completely untreated. Again, I think this is great because I was able to treat it in the way that I wanted. I used teak oil to treat just the outside, which should make it last a bit longer and be a bit more resistant to whether. It was very easy to put up and it's nice looking.

We have installed on the top of the house where we noticed a bat was living off the edge of the vent near the attic. There is screen mesh to keep him from the attic, so we thought this house would be more preferred living headquarters. It was well constructed, came with 2 screws, and easy to install. Will check back in a couple of weeks to see if he moved to his new home.. and more importantly, HE NEEDS TO KEEP EATING MOSQUITOES!!! Hopefully he invites his friends and they make this their new bat cave.

A very nice bat box that appears to have the proper dimensions for its intended occupants. The quality of the wood itself is excellent, and the craftmanship is good. The box comes with two mounting screws and predrilled locations for mounting. I was going to mount this over my back porch near a screened window, but then I learned about bat bugs. So, I will be mounting it away from the house entirely.

The product is not going to last long since it is very thin wood. Will build my own which is why I ordered 1. Need 6 good ones.
