What Hardness
They felt just like the one that came with it. They weren't hard until they soaked up the lime in my water

So far so good
They seem to be the genuine. Just wondering why the 3 pack package was opened. Hopefully these are authentic. I will update if they don’t perform like the original ones I buy at the store.

WORTH IT.
I'm blown away at how much better these filters are compared to the knock-offs I've tried (3 brands). The filter quality and performance is fantastic. I can finally "feel" my humidifier working. The wicking seems way more efficient and therefore - clean. The included Honeywell instructions recommend replacing 30-60 days. The other brands I've tried claim the same but dry out and smell within days without absurdly frequent rotations. I also had issues where one filter in the batch will work ok, but the others are a total waste. I'll report back on how my Honeywell filters hold up over time, but even for now, absolutely worth it.

Expensive but worth it, way better than cheapo versions.
After running two Honeywell humidifiers for the past few winter seasons, I've tried all the various cheap knockoffs and some are okay while others terrible, but there is no filter wick that works as well as the authentic Honeywell brand. Not sure what's so different about them, but they last much longer and do a way better job. The material and design must contribute to the performance because they stay damp from top to bottom and I habitually flip the filter and back flush it every tank fill. I setup a subscription for every two weeks which would be stretching it for cheaper versions, which are completely dried out and trashed in that time, however the Honeywell filters are still fine and I just received my second subscription delivery, so those will go in after these wear out but so far it doesn't seem like that will be anytime soon. To put it in comparison for reference, even the best of the best cheap filter wicks I've purchased have only lasted perhaps a week at best even flipping them. After the first week the cheap ones start to dry out and can't absorb water. I have a complete home water conditioner from Culligan, so I won't have the same issues others who run city or well water without treatment will so I can only attest to how well the Honeywell filters work with good clean softened water but wow dollar for dollar, one Honeywell filter will last and work better than at least a couple of perhaps 3 or 4 of the cheap filters. If you've got hard or rusty water I'm not sure it would matter as much but with good water, it's obvious the originals are the best, regardless of the premium price.

Excellent Filter.
This filter works very well. You can notice the difference in the air, compared to other filters. Just read the instructions. You can tell it's filtering well because when you turn the filter daily, in the tray, you see the white filter turning yellow because it is trapping fawcet water with hard water. That tells when it is time to replace it. I'm very satisfied.

Much Better Than The Generic Replacements
These filters work great in my humidifier. I have to run it 24/7 in my bedroom, from about early November until maybe early March, because it gets to be 40% or lower humidity with the heat on. I'm not a fan of nose bleeds and dry skin 😋 Anyway, I was using generic filter replacements, last year, and they were just wearing out super quick and sometimes causing the air output to smell. So I decided to try the OG manufacturer filters, which now have a nice Protec pre-filter on them. At first, they seemed like the wouldn't fit well into the cartridge, but I soaked the filter in water and that helped make it more pliable. After it's been in the humidifier for a few days, it conforms to the filter cartridge shape and its much easier to flip it each day. These keep the air smelling nice, and they are MUCH sturdier than the ones I used last year. I am switching to only using these, from now on. Just be sure you flip them every time you fill the water tank, so the mineral buildup is distributed and the filter doesn't dry out. If you forget, and it dries out, just soak it in water and place it back in the cartridge while it's wet, and then you'll be good to go again 👍

Buy Genuine Honeywell
I tried 2 different random no name filter/wicks and I noticed that they didn't work as well as the filter that came with my unit. I couldn't imagine what Honeywell does different from the cheaper alternatives, but I can tell you what ever they do is worth it. These new genuine Honeywell filters work great, I won't be buying the knock offs again.

You HAVE TO ROTATE THESE
If you don't rotate these every time you top up the water, they dry out and you'll have to throw them away before they are even used.
