Size matters
These are smaller than the traditional sensors that I use. Fits into a half inch hole, the ones that you buy at the big box stores are larger than that. Seem to work well so it’s a non-issue.

Worked as expected
Good product, worked just as expected & just as described. Very easy to install. Just remember to turn off the power so you are not working with live wires.

Works as of testing but note .....
I initially tested both units using a modified Sine Wave Inverter. Not appropriate ! The load (light bulb) will oscillate on-off instead of simply going off. So properly wire to the grid source or possibly a pure Sine Wave Inverter as the photo cell is sensitive to electrical noise or harmonics.Wiring: As no diagram or other information is supplied , so 4 stars in....[] White wire to grid neutral AND the base side of load (bulb) .[] Black wire to grid hot .[] Red wire to load hot side (tip of bulb) .btw - if using a mechanical switch, put it in the hot side of the grid source. The transition time between states is approximately 15 seconds. You must entirely block the light to test. Your finger or any flat object will not block light through the sides of the plastic lense.

Street lights are working once again
This product was used in two street lights in our condo community. The photo eyes are a quality product, I believe they would work better in a yard post light. Our LED fixtures are very bright, these photo eyes are just a little too sensitive. The fixtures turn on at dusk and turn off 2 to 3 times before it is dark enough fore the fixtures to stay on. Most of my neighbors have exercised their civic duty and informed me of this perceived malfunction, nothing I can’t handle. Thank you, George

More sensitive than the old ones being replaced.
These are relatively easy to install. Replacing same but older photo-electric eyes (probably 12 years old) that have been coming on too early and staying on too long. The new ones definitely made an improvement. I think the sun shining directly on the eye changes the clarity of the lens over time, so direct it away from direct sun as much as possible. Even one not in direct sun improved to a shorter "on-time" daily so perhaps the plastic lens ages.

These do not work with dimmable LED Light Bulbs
I tried these with a dimmable LED light bulb and it didn't work. There was too much current bleed through that made the bulbs flash. They may work with non-dimmable, but I'm not sure.
