Collected Another Kindle Light!
The media could not be loaded. Edit on July 10, 2010:I have added a very short video comparing a few of my reading lights, but please understand I am not a videographer, so it really isn't that good. But I hope it helps someone though.I still use the Belkin light the most and no longer look for any other reading lights for my Kindle - it broke my addiction! :)Original Review:I admit to collecting reading lights for my Kindle (you can see my review of others here: Mighty Bright MiniFlex Book Light, Black), so it wasn't surprising when I ordered this one after seeing it mention on the Kindle forum here on Amazon. The light is very bright - even on the lowest setting. It might actually be a bit too bright if you are reading in bed with a significant other, but I don't have that problem at the moment.I read my Kindle naked - sans cover. This light firmly holds onto the Kindle without or without a cover. It is different than the other Might Bright Lights, as this doesn't clip on per se - it will slide onto the naked Kindle, and will extend to fit over the Kindle with a cover. I have added pictures above to show this in more detail. For me, the biggest issues are weight of the light and limiting a hotspot on the Kindle screen. I find this light to weigh about the same as the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light (Kindle Version) Black [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging], (maybe a little less) but it seems more balanced because of the wider base - easier for me to use in bed while I am lying on my side. The front edge also will not touch the Kindle screen like the Might Bright will. And I am able to adjust the light so I have no hotspot on the screen. Some of these things are probably personal preference, so your mileage may vary. If you like the Kandle, this probably isn't for you. If you like the Mighty Bright, this is slightly better in my opinion, but a bit pricier.Enjoy! :)

A Bright Idea
I was putting off getting a light for my Kindle 3 Keyboard because I mainly read with lights on and didnt think I had the need. I had kept one on my wish list since I bought ny kindle, in case I decided to buy it. Lately, I have been reading in the family room at night where there isn't much light except for a bright one on the ceiling fan, so I decided now was the time to get that light. Of course, before ordering I looked up other lights to see if there was anything new and/or better. Turns out there is. The Belkin Clip-ON Reading Light for Kindle is more money than the other light, but it has a smaller front to the clip, so it doesnt block the face of the Kindle. I read through most of the reviews and noticed there was a lot of concern about it fitting my size Kindle. I saw the little add-on clip they made for Kindle keyboards, and wondered if that would really work. I was not sure if I should bother if I was going to end up returning it, but Amazon is great with customer service and I knew that the worst case would be I returned it and got the other one.My Belkin Clip-On Reading Light came today and the first thing I did was insert the 3 AAA batteries needed. The light has 2 settings, but I find the lower setting is sufficient enough for me. The light itself is very lightweight and the batteries do not make it much heavier. Now it was time to try the fit. I use a rubber protective "skin" on my Kindle, so placing the light on it did not require the use of the add-on. The skin makes it grip tight enough that it doesn't fall off, even turning it upside down. (believe me,I tested this out) It does stick out a bit in the back (why 4 starts istead of 5), but it stays in place and it is not like I will be running around while reading. When I tuck the light into the base, it is small enough to fit inside the front zippered part of my Kindle case. Overall, it will do the job it is made for and that's what counts. I am not crazy about the price for such a small light, but I feel somethings are worth paying a little extra for.

Big Light/Small Imprint: Best little Kindle light ever
I have bought many different lights similar to this; but so far this one is the best. It is adjustable to fit the thickness of the latest generation Kindle and leather cover together; or if you want, it has an insert part that will make it fit just Kindle. The adjustability of the clip and its small imprint is what makes it so desirable to own.I do have a complaint. For the price, you would think they would include the three AAA batteries to power the light or add this to the cost of the light. So before you buy the light make sure you have the batteries in the house to use it.Also note, the battery cover does not come off that easily; you really have to work for it. You have to catch your nail and pull on the top of the battery cover while you push it off.Another annoyance was having to work at getting the light to go from from low to high; it would only go from off to low when using the pad of my thumb which really was adequate; but I wanted the option to use the high setting. I finally got it to work by using the underside of my nail and sort of lifting and squeesing the light using my nail on the switch and my thumb on the side of the light. I still have to do that to get to the high setting; but it is no big deal now that I know what to do. It is just strange, as all other lights I own you only use the pad of your thumb. That being said, this is the light I would pick again with no hesitation; but I hope my comments will make the light easier for people to use the first time; and the manufacturer will note my complaints as they are legitimate.Always know that Amazon will back up the products they sell. For that reason, I always check out Amazon before I buy anything. If you are spending over $25.00, shipping is free from Amazon; you pay shipping only when shipped from a third party. Even then, if you buy thru Amazon and their is a problem, they will see that you are reimbursed both for the product and shipping. Amazon has never let me down.
