Did what we needed, got wifi out to our pool
Order received yesterday and I installed it today. We bought it because we wanted to have wifi out by the pool (pictured) but with our current set up we didn't get a signal, and if we did if would fade in and out. I installed the Extender today at the wall closest to the screen door. The install was not really difficult but a fair amount of steps, probably took 10 minutes or so. I tested before I finished the install and I only had 1 bar at the pool steps, after install I had 2 bars past the pool (into the woods back there)....so it did it's job and we're happy we'll be able to have consistent wifi out by our pool!

Horrible Product to Extend WiFi Range and minimize WiFi dead spots
I purchased N300 Wireless Extender on Amazon to tackle WiFi dead spots and to extend WiFi signal range in my house. The instruction manual is very confusing but actually it is very easy to install and operate. First attach the Power Plug to the Extender by pushing the tab and turning clockwise. To use extender as a WiFi repeater, set mode selector to Repeater and power switch to ON. Plug Extender to a power outlet near the Router and press and hold WPS button for 6 seconds. Within 20-30 seconds, press WPS button on router. After Extender reboots, relocate Extender halfway (20-25 feet) between Router and your WiFi dead zone. Ideally all LED lights on the extender should be lit indicating ideal locationI have now been using N300 extender for the last 8-10 days. It works fine but every morning it stops functioning. Daily I have to unplug it from power and then plug it back to reboot it. I need to contact tech support as this is not acceptable. If not fixed, I will return this junk device for a refund. It has now been 12 days since I started using N300 extender. If it is not used for a few hours, it stops working as advertised. The only solution to make it work again is to power it off and power it on. This is totally unacceptable on a daily basis. It is junk and I am returning it for a refund. By the way, the tech support does not respond and email is undeliverable. It is a total waste of money and effort.

Useless Device, not sure how others are giving positive reviews about this device!..
Pros: - Very easy to set up, connects immediately on configure as per the steps provided. - Low Cost - Eager to help Product Support team over email.Cons: - only capable of 2.5Ghz and not 5Ghz - The speed of network was better when my devices directly connected to the original router instead of connecting through this repeater, it was actually degrading the network!.. That was pure disappointment so I decided to return the device!.. It says up to 300Mbps and I hardly got double digit with full signal level.I sincerely feel the Seller should consider a better product than this, too bad I have been extremely critical but I do not encourage such low quality products.Disclaimer: The seller contacted me to test this device to provide a detailed review and rating. I keep my reviews unbiased and I hope you find this is helpful in evaluating the product.

I wanted to love you so much..
So after I read some reviews I was able to get the directions on how to install it. That's fine, it happens, i made it out to be harder than it was. It was actually really easy to install! Once I got it I had a friend in a different part of the house test it out and they were going through a solid outside door. The connection was great! The connection was great in my living room as well. I was able to go outside a side door and outside a door on another floor and still get two bars on my phone, i wasn't positive it was working normal with that but its so hot outside i came back in. That turned out to be irrelevant. After so long of use it just wouldn't connect to the internet again. Nothing changed, my shorter range router was fine and is super reliable. I'm so bummed!

Cannot turn off DHCP server which is also on the wrong subnet
In AP mode at least, I've just discovered this unit is causing DHCP-based wired and wifi appliances (loosely speaking) to go offline because this thing it handing out DHCP leases - and on a different subnet (192.168.10.0/24 is its default) than the one I use and which is the one that connects to the internet. Worse, there doesn't appear to be any way to keep it from acting as a DHCP server in the web app. I don't want to correct its IP address to put it in my network because it seems likely it will start doing the same thing there, which is the last thing any sane admin would want - especially since I have my regular DHCP server issuing specific IPs for certain MAC addresses which this unit would know nothing about. Really poor programming, to say the least.

Not a great experience
I bought this on a friends recommendation. Product was delivered a day early. Took it out of the box and immediately knew this was going to be a problem as soon as I started reading the instructions. The instructions were not very clear to a non-technical person and read like the emails you get warned about. Bad grammar, misspelled or missing words, etc. I followed the instructions, with the help of my friend, to get it synced with my wireless router. Initially I thought it was a success but quickly decided my excitement was for nothing. It initially creates a network called Wireless N. But the instructions tell you that when it is correctly synced, this network name will change to your original net work name with _ext. Mine continued to display the Wireless N. I contacted their technical support through the email I received from Amazon and told them through email that I needed support and that the Wireless N was still showing as the new network. Tech support said that was normal and all was good. This directly contradicted their written instructions. I put it back in the box and will ship back tomorrow. Will try another brand.
