Excellent Racing Simulation
I use this game with the Thrustmaster TX racing wheel and pedals. The flow of the game through career mode is great. You can still manually configure cars very specifically in your garage, and tune/adjust the car as well prior to a race which is great. The selection of road courses is good as well. The many variations of artificial intelligence in opposing drivers is the best in the series so far, and the various difficulty/training aids you can toggle prior to each race is superb. The integration with the steering wheel is also very good. The only negative I have found is it has become clear why races aren't held in the rain. This game has racing in the rain, and where water pools on the track, the track is unusable in turns. Probably accurate with reality, but since races are cancelled in the "real world" during rain, with a simulation racing series and trying to be true to reality, why force us to race in the rain when its not reality? You can adjust and turn it down a notch, adjust your racing line, and still do well, but it isn't true to realistic racing. The different special events and unique races are all great as well. Well worth the money with this game, and no in game purchases required.

Great Game
MS 5 was first one I tried and while not an expert on the series, can say I really like this version better. Upgraded to the Thrustmaster TX wheel and that in itself changes everything. Awesome game with that wheel. And I have the wheel stand. This and Project Cars are my go-to racing games, along with F1 2015. Project Cars is a whole other thing with it's depth of options and diversity of tracks. I love the simplicity of MS 6 in terms of set-up for the wheel, and general game play, especially the force feedback. When I want to just jump into a game quickly, I pull this one out. When I want to spend more time fine tuning the force feedback for each car, Project Cars. I also like to use the rewind to learn and perfect, which is missing from Project Cars. Interesting contrast in how I play compared to Project Cars. With MS6, I drive much better when I use the front bumper view. Whereas with Project Cars I do just as well with the in car and in helmet (which is amazing) views, as with the front bumper. Must be something with the game..course then again could just be that I need to spend more time in the in car view. Great game. Get it if you are wavering.

Great Racing sim. Not that fun
I first want to make sure you know that this is not like Forza Horizon. Any longtime Forza racers will know this but new-comers may not. Forza 6, like 5 (and all other non-Horizon Forza games) is more of a simulation style racing game than arcade. Your car will spin out much easier, lose grip much easier and if you get hit during an online race it's going to be very difficult to come back and win. If you're cool with all that then you should proceed! Gameplay: Like I said, this is not an arcade style racer like Forza Horizon 2, cars react with much less trigger or stick input and you need to pay attention all the time. I am happy to report however that you can indeed drift more easily in Forza 6 (as opposed to previous Forzas). The rain driving is awesome, it's very cool to drive from the inside view while it's raining to get the full effect, and the puddles have such a huge impact on car performance that it's really a whole different experience. Night time racing isn't all that great many of the tracks I've done a night race on have no lights so you basically get tunnel vision of whatever your car's headlights show... It's hard to see the turns and tire walls which basically end your race if you hit them. Visuals: I don't notice any visual improvements over Forza 5 or Forza Horizon 2, I still think Horizon 2 is the best looking Forza game and the scenery in Forza 6 is nothing special. I will say the rain on the windows and dash reflection on the windshield are two cool features of Forza 6 (the gauges also work but I can't remember if they did in 5 as well). Audio: The engine notes are crisp and unique, I haven't experienced any audio lag with shifts like I did in Horizon 2 (online), which is a good thing. The music in Forza 6 is MUCH better than Forza 5 but worse than the Horizon series (which actually had "real" songs), at least the Forza 6 music is energetic, and some of it reminds me of Mass Effect. Multiplayer: There are two forms of multiplayer from what I can tell, regular - pick a class race with your friends - multiplayer and then there is league racing... League racing only open certain times and some hoppers limit the car you drive (I just spent a half hour in misery racing the Ford GT with other Ford GTs) the lobby you get put in to is based on your skill level, so last night I wanted to race with my buddy who had just got the game but he was "grassroots" and I was "Professional", we couldn't race together in league play. For the most part the online experience is much like that of Forza 5, you get to pick a track after each race and there are intermissions. Luckily I have yet to experience any connection issues like with all previous Forza games. The racing is fun and the lack of sticky grass makes it MUCH more fun than Forza 5, however it is just as annoying as always running the whole race in first or second place only to get spun out by the guy in third with 2 corners to go and you end up taking 5th... That still happens, and I wish Forza could find a way to make that not happen or at least penalize the guy who spun you out... Forza Rewards: The the use of Forza Rewards they keep rewarding veterans. You get a car for ever tier of Rewards you are, and you get special badges and credits. It's nice to see a Microsoft product reward loyalty for a change. Bottom Line: I like Forza 6, I'll keep Horizon 2 in the queue for when I want to have some fun but Forza 6 is a good simulation style racing game. If you understand that it's a simulation racer not an arcade racer you will enjoy this game, if you're looking for Forza Horizon or Need for Speed you will be very frustrated and unhappy with your purchase. Hope it helps!

Incomprehensibly bad start; great finish
I initially rated this game 1-star. It really deserves it because the first hour or so is a 1-star experience with forced content, videos, and such. That old review read: "Worst game ever. Forces you to go through insanely long intro videos then tutorials. All I want to do is race with my son. Incomprehensibly bad game because you can't even play it!" However, once you get through all this stupid force-fed crap, the game is really wonderful. The graphics are nice, the physics are reasonably accurate (at least compared to my now two decades old memories of actual racing on various tracks, including Lime Rock which is in the game). With a wheel (I use a Logitech) and surround sound it's wonderful. Still don't get the kinesthetics from a real race car which makes it a lot harder to be consistent and push the limits (at least for me) but a lot of fun.

Failed Load - Doesn't work
The game is fun enough, but within the first hour of trying to play bit froze and booted me. Now it says "load failed" everytime i try to play it. All I wanted to do was play split screen with my son and even getting to that was a chore. So now it's just a 60 dollar coaster. I will return it if I can't get it working. This only 5 hours after opening the game.
