Lang Tools 2581 26-Piece Thread Restorer Tap and Die Set, black

Initially the product came dumped in the Amazon bag and 3 pieces were missing. Reached out to customer support at AE tools and they had the missing parts at my doorstep in a few days.Disappointed in the way the product arrived, but satisfied with the company making right on the issue.Tools have worked great as well.

Worked exactly like the should. High quality. Fantastic customer service. I broke the 1/4-28 in a very rusty grease fitting hole. They replaced immediately. Shipped same day i contacted them.

I've been a mechanic for 40 years and every time that I needed to clean up threads I have always used a tap without any issues. Well, I guess that I have been doing it wrong all these years and so as to not mess up the threads on an engine block, I bought this set of thread chasers. They seem to work alright (although not as good as a tap); however, on some of the threads they needed to be longer, so I did end up using a tap on those. I do know that using a tap on rusty threads will dull the tap, so these are nice for keeping expensive taps sharp. I guess? Like others have noted, the plastic bit organizer is kinda' flimsy, so keep that in mind if that's important to you. But for me, it will work just fine.

Ok, first the bad is that you can almost see thru the plastic case it is so thin. But that is the only con for this set. Lang is a top tier company with an excellent reputation. I am rebuilding an old International Scout that has sat for a decade and has a ton of rusty nuts and bolts. I put this set to work immediately with some Kano Kroil and it has proven how valuable it is. I think about all of the hours I have spent cleaning bolts with a wire brush and I don't know why I didn't get this years ago. Do yourself a favor and get this set, it is very well priced and is excellent quality. And remember that is a thread restorer, not a thread cutter. You need a tap and die set for that. Also, this set is made in USA.

I needed to replace a few worn-out and lost pieces of a nice set bought years ago. I'm glad that this economic set let me make my set complete again. Thumbs-Up.

Piss poor case, with the price of this item it really should have a better carry case. Or a satchel

These are great for chasing dirty or damaged threads. Made in USA too.

Tool showed up overnight and is exactly as expected. I've been chasing bolts and threads on my Harley for the last several days and it works great and is a quality tool.My only complaint would be that the case is very flimsy plastic and they use some heavy-duty staples to seal it, so by the time you remove them, the case was torn.
