Many military details wrong, weak plot, but decent character interaction.
I won't try to list the errors, just suffice it to say if you're a veteran (or just a buff who's studied a bit about the military) the errors are so jarring I almost couldn't finish. Also the plot is a bit trite (mid-level bureaucrat willing to sacrifice innocent civilians to protect his job/perks and trying to cover up a mistake) and overstresses Suspension-of-Disbelief. In today’s digital age, such a cover-up would be much more involved and would unravel much more quickly and thoroughly. Still, I found myself quickly vested in the main character and slogged on through to find out what happened.Bottom line, if you know much about the US Military services or about how government agencies work, you might want to skip this one. Otherwise it was a fun read.

Men of valor
Would I be willing to do what these men do? I do not know. But I am proud of them and the job they do. Are they human? You bet they are, yet despite being human and I am sure experiencing the fears and desire to be somewhere safe, they do the job and we are the benifactors of their sacrifice. We will not know all they do sacrifice. And, I have great empathy for their families as they do this. It is not just the soldier alone. They have many who may be many miles form them that hurt with them, and cry with and for them. God bless them and their families.

Action Thriller
When the 'alphabet' agencies screw up they go to all lengths to cover it up. This is another example with a raid of a suspected Islamic terrorist being carried out on the wrong address. In the ensuing bedlam the wife and young son of a retired sniper are killed along with all the agency intruders. The sniper seeks out the other people associated with the foul up to take his revenge. A manhunt ensues, along with further cover ups to take out the sniper before he concludes his mission. A good read.

"Sniper" by Tom Onstott = money well-spent for thriller!
This book was scheduled to arrive by Tuesday, November 29 and I got it on Friday, November 25. GOOD JOB & Kudos to both Amazon shipping department and the Postal Service!!I finished this book last night (Sunday) though I had to ration the number of pages I read each day to make it last. I enjoyed reading this thriller very much. The action is believable, the characters seemed realistic for both good guys and bad guys, and the ending is worth waiting for. No fair peeking!!I can recommend this story and author without reservation. I am looking forward to his next effort, due out sometime in 2012, entitled 'Surviving Jardine.'

Hurried first foray and not edited.
I thought the plot was half decent, or at least entertaining. The lack of editing is admitted- thankfully, because it's glaringly obvious there was none. The book has the feel of "self-published" about it. Ending was as predictable as it gets. The author has talent and much potential, I think. He promised editing and a new book to follow. I'll probably give it a look.

very good book
i thoroughly enjoyed this book, the story was great and the characters are wonderful. The writing style is not at the level of some of the great authors I love to read, but better than 90 percent of authors I have come across. You will love this book if you love action, honor, and virtue.

TOO SHORT --- NOTHING TO IT
Didn't notice that this entire book??? was only 12 pages long. Wouldn't have ordered it had I noticed >>> also the preview sample was deceivingly short as well. The story was mediocre at best & even tho the cost wasn't much you're better off getting a cup of coffee for the same $. I am used to so much more & better in the military/special ops category that I felt really ripped off & time wasted. This is the 1st negative review I've ever given & I"ve read and enjoyed more than 6 dz military/special ops/navy seal books...........Don't waste your time here. & Hey >>> 12 pages from start to finish...Ridiculous.

This entire book is bad from start to finish but at the same time ...
First off learn your weapons before you write a book. 30.06 is not military. This entire book is bad from start to finish but at the same time it is readable. The plot drags with little action and when there is action if is poorly written. The ending of the book the turning himself in no one is going to be given a day to roam around. First off local cops are on alert. Second the President is at the event. Lastly just not happening. I read a ton and my level of disgust with this book is very high. The author has many chances to write a good quality book but instead either did not do his research or never asked for technical help.
