Delicious..Pizza.
This is The Best Pizza Sauce ever. First it's a pop top can no need for a can opener . When I opened the can it smells like Basil & Oragano. Sauce is thick not watery. Ordered 4 more cans and use it also for my pasta sauce it's REALLY DELICIOUS. I recommend this Amazon Pizza Sauce you won't be sorry. Order 1 can and you'll be back to order more. Promise..A+

Try it, you might like it.
I'm a total red sauce freak. I use marinara for everything, pasta, pizzza, etc. BUT.....I've started buying Amazon products including this fab pizza sauce. I've literally tried everything on the shelves and this sauce in my opinion is TOP SHELF. It is a nice thick consistency as I like, the taste is better than the pizzza joints. All this is my opinion of course and if you are a red sauce freak, I would invite you to try it. Had it today with toasted Ravioli....oooolala. I am trying the salad dressings and other products and so far I am not dissatisfied with anything and to top it off, I've save a few pennies. :)

Simple pizza sauce that gets the job done
This comes in a standard canned format, and it is very straightforward to use. The can is easy to open and store, and the sauce pours out without any difficulty. It spreads easily on pizza dough and has a smooth consistency that makes it simple to work with. It is not too thick or too watery, so it stays in place fairly well while assembling a pizza. The flavor is mild and familiar, which makes it easy to pair with different toppings. It does not overpower anything, so it works more as a base that you can build on depending on what you add. The texture is smooth without large chunks, which helps it spread evenly across the crust. It bakes without becoming overly runny, which keeps the overall pizza balanced. It is a simple and affordable option that works well for homemade pizza without needing anything fancy or complicated. Overall, it's a decent pizza sauce that is easy to use and reliable for quick homemade pizza nights.

JUST DELISH!
I absolutely love this sauce. It's thick, robust, favorable and so well seasoned. I just add red pepoer flakes for dome kick. Who's to say it's just for pizza? I am going to use it with everything that requires a tomatoe sauce ie: pasta dishes, dipping sauces for mozzarella sticks etc. In fact, I just ordered some more to stock. Thank you Amazon for such a great sauce!

Compares to National Brands for Flavor and Consistency
I'm half Italian and pride myself on my homemade pizza. Everything is usually made from scratch, but having a shortcut here and there is great, especially since I grate my cheeses and make my dough from scratch. My pizza sauce is made to taste like a New York City pizzeria. This stuff is a little rich for that flavor, but adding a tablespoon or two of water seems to get it about right. But, straight out of the can it rivals Prego, Contadina and Classico pizza sauces. I have a preference for fennel seed on my pizza so I sprinkle some on top of the sauce layer but under the first layer of my mozzarella/Romano mixture.

Great for chili
The apparent reformulation has left this product a little too watery to make pizza with, in my opinion. However, I decided to try it in a batch of chili I made recently, and it came out perfectly! And for the price, it's more than worth it. If you only want to use it for pizza, you could boil it down to thicken it. I think you could also add a little bit of flower while boiling. This process is quick because you only need like 1/4 of the can for a 12 inch pizza--so boiling just 1/4 of the can will only take a couple of minutes. Then you can use the other 3/4 of the can for chili--just fry celery, onions, peppers and your protein (in my case, TVP), then add this pizza sauce can to the pot (I poured in about 3/4 of the can and used the rest for pizza). After cooking a bit, I poured in some water, seasonings, and beans. Cooking time was only 30-45 minutes, and so easy with this pizza sauce.

This was once the best pizza sauce around, but no more!
I first purchased this pizza sauce last year and wasn't expecting much for the price, but at under a dollar it was worth a try. WOW!!! What amazing stuff! Rich, thick consistency, perfectly seasoned...without a doubt the best store-bought pizza sauce I ever had, and what a bargain! I often make individual sized homemade pizzas, and even after making a pie what was left in the can filled the jar that I had saved from my last jar of Walmart sauce to the top. I hurriedly ordered more - I wanted a dozen, but the max allowable was 10, but no problem - I placed another order after that! Meanwhile I told all my friends and family whom I know make homemade pizza to get some of this absolutely fabulous sauce, and placed several more orders myself. Then came the crash. The recipe was changed. I opened a can, and instead of the thick, rich, wonderful sauce I had come to love, what the can contained was watery chopped tomato, with not even a hint of seasoning. Thinking this was a fluke, I opened a second can...then a third. All of them were a major disappointment; had the first can I purchased been like them I would never have gotten more. I still have a number of cans made from the original recipe and they're still in the carton they were shipped in so I know which they are, but I also have quite a few of the nasty ones. Not only do I now have to tell everyone I recommended this sauce to to not waste their money on it, but I don't know what to do with the watery tomato "sauce" - I don't even feel right donating them to a food pantry. I hate it when manufacturers take an excellent product and - to save money - totally ruin it. I'll never buy this again - it's back to Walmart or Ragu brand for me...or better yet, homemade! Edit to add: I see others have commented that the recipe is back to the original, and there must have been an error on Amazon's part where plain diced tomatoes were mislabeled as pizza sauce. Far be it from Amazon to contact customers to make things right! In any case, when I first purchased this sauce a few months ago it was 89 cents a can; as of today it's $1.69. No thanks Amazon - you can keep it.
