Oneida American Harmony 45-Piece 18/0 Silverware Set for 8, Flatware

I’m really happy with this set. The design is simple and elegant. It has a great shine and good weight. It finished my Thanksgiving table beautifully.

Handsome heavy set. Even has a sugar shell (spoon). All the serving set as well. Highly recommend.

Set is ok... We have owned it for a few months so I feel like I can accurate review now. They look nice and shiny. They haven’t shown nicks or cuts like some flatware has in our past, so that’s nice. BUT... It feels flimsy and lightweight. I hate the knives. It took us a few weeks to get used to this - they feel cheap, honestly. I would have expected something heavier from such a well-known brand. My mother in law has this exact pattern and hers is much heavier. It’s a night and day difference. But she purchased hers about 20 years ago. So, it stands to reason reviews that speak to this issue are true. For some reason they produce light flat ware now, so be aware.

Love Harmony pattern matches 30 year old pattern.

Purchased this set to augment the discontinued Oneida flatware I ordered through Betty Crocker many years ago, because these pieces have a similar shape (though not the same pattern). I really notice a difference in the quality since manufacturing has gone to China, especially with the forks and the knife handles. The forks in my old set have much thicker tines which will never bend out of shape under normal use. The knives in my old set have hollow handles, which is a hallmark of quality. And my old set still looks shiny and nice after years of use and being tossed into the dishwasher. This new set looks a bit tarnished after just a few months of use. But the cost of the eight new place settings was only about $20 more than the cost of replacing one salad fork from my old set through a pattern matching service. I opted for the new set, and I’m okay with it.

The shiny gleam of American Harmony is what first caught my eye. The teardrop shape and beautiful beading made it perfect for special as well as everyday meals. What really sold me on this pattern was how well the knife fit in my hand and how the weight was perfectly balanced. I purchased the American Harmony set for 8 like 20 years ago, and I added another set for 8 10 years ago. Both sets are still sparkling like new all these years later.

I was happy to find the match to my set. The knife handles are a bit more slender but otherwise the set were exactly the same as my 15 year old set.

I am very satisfied with my order. They are not quite as heavy as another collection(Azalea) that I have, but I think they will last nicely for many years.

Love these! They feel great in your hand and are lovely to look at.

Bought to replace 30 year-old set. Over all it is good, but the knife handles have been slimmed down and that throws off the balance and they don't sit quite as well in the hand now (they tend to want to roll sideways). Overall they are good, I'd probably buy again.
