I normally purchase Wellness excellerator brand or in a pinch Tranquility Topliner. Since the topliner is peach colored I was wanting a white pad so that I could monitor the color of the patients urine due to bladder issues and these were white and held a good amount of fluid. They are more expensive than I wish but the quality is very good. I really like that they are made in Japan versus China because the quality is much better. They do not fall apart. They swell up like any booster when full but also allow liquid to flow through to the absorbent diaper as well. I doubled them side by side slightly over lapping instead of stacked on top of each other and they worked very well through the night with no leaks. I like that they are a few inches longer than the other brands. I purchased the extra long ones and they are longer than other long ones I have purchased and that is a good thing for bed ridden patients. I wish they were less expensive but some things you just have to buy to save extra misery later. Keeps from having to change the bedding, gowns from leaking. However, if it is scrunched together at any point rather than slightly folded, the amount that it can hold would diminish for lack of the ability to expand to the maximum size. What I received was, as its package says, 3.9" x 14.5"...a significant reduction in width. **Q: how much uriane they hold ?** A: These types of pads like the NorthShore brand boosters are stackable. I use 6 on my mom inside overnight pants. This is meant to leak through to the actual pull up which is waterproof. Also any pads that have plastic bottoms like Poise and Tena are leak proof. Those can be used inside regular underwear with a booster for extra absorption. **Q: Are these booster pads 18 inches long?** A: Hi Joyce, the booster pads come in 2 sizes. I buy the regular size and it's 12 and a half inches long. I use a standard overnight pad underneath the booster and the 2 pads work well together. I ordered the long booster pad before. It was too long for the overnight pad. I suppose if someone was using incontinence underwear instead of pads, the longer pad would give some extra protection. I never actually measured the long pad...but it probably was about 18 inches. We use them daily and they are really soft to the touch so not irritating and the long length helps cover a lot of area that the smaller pads don't reach.
