Good device to simplify speaker testing
As a hobbyist, there are only a few things I would spend money on. Granted that the functionality of this device can be done with a few well placed resistors, medium quality sound card, and good understanding of electronics; but the DATS removes all the uncertainties of building your own test equipment.I had to change the built-in alligator clips to a much sturdier version (the clips that comes with the device is a little flimsy)

It works as advertised.
I will keep it simple. It works as advertised. I have had no problems with the item and the software works without problems. Is it pricey I think it is however if you use it for business it is worth its weight on gold. I used it on a few speakers and I transfered the generated charts to another program to build custome made crossovers. I a not talking your "one fits all" type of crossover. I am talking about a custom crossover for a very specific driver types and it just saved me a ton of time. Once I tested the speaker drivers finished product I can tell you I am sold. It just works.

I tested out several boxes I built and it is really accurate and is very helpful to see the tune. Haven't used it to test speakers yet but it does that too. Very handy tool to have.

Zero Product support / NOT for beginners / Poor documentation
Purchased this to begin building speaker crossovers. The "help" file is vague for beginners but is very technical for experts. As a beginner this is NOT helpful. I tried to reach out to support for a question and zero response. It does impedance check but not even a legend for inform you what the damn different color lines are on the chart!! How the heck does that help? Just not for beginners, you have to be well versed in all aspects of this before it is of any use. Buyer beware!!
