Decent piece of equipment.
My motherboard audio jacks seem to be failing so I bought this to bypass those connections. It does the job very well. You have to install a driver which was easy. Overall the sound is dood and I am happy with the product and would recommend it.

USB Sound "Box"
Works quite well. The sound on my computer went out recently. Although I will tear it apart at some point and replace the sound chip on the MB, I am currently unable to do so. This little box works quite well. Installation is very simple. The only complaint I have is the sound has no Bass/Treble adjustment. Mine sounds very Bass, which I do like for most music. However, when playing games, the voices are difficult to understand. Having an adjustment would be a great addition to this box. I would recommend this box to anyone who has had the sound on their computer go out. Just do not expect too much from it for the low price point. Mine came without any instructions, but was easy to connect.

SPDIF Input DOES NOT WORK, Mic input serious quality issues
I ordered this device intending to capture a simple PCM SPDIF stream. The device, as designed and manufactured, is wholly incapable of any form of SPDIF input, regardless of packaging or listing details. Full stop.Upon first connection, with no other devices hooked up to it, the SPDIF input began making the typical 'digital input scream' (If you're not familiar, it's just static/random mixed frequencies, at full volume) and nothing except using the hardware Mute function would make it stop. No valid SPDIF signal (or lack thereof) results in any different behavior. Further examination revealed what I would call "ghost audio" on the Mic input as well -- constant, low-level input typical of an incredibly noisy ADC.The packaging was in the best of condition, and all items within the box seemed untouched. I exchanged it for a second, assuming it was merely defective, but the replacement behaves in an identical manner. This device cannot, and will not ever, record SPDIF in any way. This device will not ever record a microphone input with any good quality. It might make some speakers do the sound thing, but that's not what I needed it for, and it advertises the capacity to do the things I need. Just don't support this kind of garbage.

Works great.
When my sound chip on the mother board gave up the ghost this thing came to the rescue. Good clear audio at a very reasonable price.

No filtering at all
Although it works the audio comes with whine. It's worse when its connected to a USB hub, but even when connected directly to my laptop there is some whine. It's because of insufficient filtering on the power line - a couple of capacitors could have fixed that.I've started my review at 3 stars and will update in a couple of weeks.

Works really good.
This sound card sounds really good and is great for recording audio as well. The only drawback is that it's not plug & play, you have to install the software and drivers first. It comes with a 3" CD that you have to install before using it or it won't work properly. But overall I love the sound quality and have used the optical out and in to connect to my DAT and minidisc deck and it works. It sounds a lot better than the audio out on my laptop.

Looks nice.
This LEAGY USB 7.1 External Sound Card (8-Channel) looks nice, but, I couldn't figure out how to set this up and so sadly it is useless to me. I like the design and the box, but not much else.

Great lil gadget
Bought this after my laptop took a fall and the audio started giving problems. Solved all my issues, however I had to replace the USB cable as it was kind of slack and kept disconnecting if the laptop was moved.Other than it works well and does as it is supposed to.
