Crazy good quality beautiful product!!!
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband for use at his new job and it was so gorgeous when it arrived that I let him open it 2 1/2 weeks early. He was so proud to come home and tell me about all of the compliments he got and questions his coworkers asked about his present. This is an EXTREMELY well made 100% genuine leather messenger bag with unique markings and characteristics. It smells incredibly strong like the "new leather" smell even after conditioning it with leather lotion and it being opened and used for over a month now. *As with all new genuine leather products, I highly recommend you treat it with a leather conditioner and protectant before using it.You will not be disappointed with your purchase if you choose this bag. And NO, I wasn't given a free one to write this review or anything along those lines.

it just would have been better to match the leather
Very well made durable bag. I have had it for about 2 months now I guess and use it almost daily. A little bit tight for a 15" and I was using a 17" for a bit but that was very tight. I carry various other sundry objects mice, flashes, flashlight, AC cords, etc. and they all expand the pockets well enough to be carryable. The only real detraction I can really see id the sliding "patch" on the shoulder strap that is designed to rest on the shoulder could have been a little cushioned as I said I carry a bit of gear and it gets a little heavy but I can find something to help with that, it just would have been better to match the leather.I would definitely buy again and am considering the backpack as well for biking portability.

Mostly Well-Made, But Color is WAY Off
I'm disappointed in this bag overall and will return it. It is mostly sturdy construction with thick leather, strong stitching, and brass D-rings for the straps, but the closures for the flap are surprisingly thin and I can see why some reviewers have said they fell off.The biggest disappointment is the color and texture, which are nothing remotely like the images. It looks as if the manufacturer stained the leather, assembled it, and then literally sand blasted it to the point where all of the leather grain and nearly all of the color were blasted away. The result is a decidedly pinkish bag made out of the driest leather imaginable. The leather is also very stiff. If you wanted to purchase leather dye and an emolument, you could probably bring it close to the picture, but then again, that's not the point. This bag is also surprisingly large. Mine is 16d x 14h x 5w, and there's lots more room than my 15" laptop needs.Pros:Sturdy construction, except for the flap claspsSoft fabric interior with compartments and ample storageThick leatherCons:Excessively dry leather needs immediate leather care product to soften and protectVery little color, does not resemble the image at allFlap clasps are very thin metal, could easily come off

Beautiful and sturdy bag, with a couple of design flaws.
I've been using this bag for about two months now, and it is holding up very well (I am rough on luggage). It's well-constructed, very sturdy, and beautiful (I absolutely love the vintage "distressed" look). My complaints:The strap is slightly uncomfortable (and a little short for those of use who are very tall with large frames). The sliding shoulder pad should be a little larger and have some actual padding. Not a big deal when the bag is lightly loaded, but slip a computer in there, and it starts to dig in during the six-block walking part of my commute. The back edges/corners of the speed clips are very sharp, and I've nipped my fingertips a couple times while closing the flap. I've only drawn blood once, but it's always painful, especially if one catches you right under the fingernail! They're made of what appears to be fairly soft brass, so I may take a jeweler's file and round them off myself.Additionally, while the strap buckles are just for show, the addition of another hole or two would make them useful in adjusting the looseness of the flap, allowing one to tuck an umbrella or tightly-rolled light jacket underneath (or more items inside the bag). I'm sure Amazon sells a leather punch; maybe I'll remedy that situation myself as well...

The handle isn't as comfortable as my Eddie Bauer leather messenger bag I bought ...
Sharp looking bag and is exactly as pictured. The handle isn't as comfortable as my Eddie Bauer leather messenger bag I bought years ago and replacing it with this one. The lettering on the main flap is a little distracting and looks like its been personalized vs. a logo. Leather is very soft. I am going to spray leather protector over it and start using it in a few days. I have seen complaints about color rubbing off on clothes but I didn't notice it on my hands or clothes when I was trying it out.

Great bag, great appearance, affordable
I have used this bag for about 3 years now. Very big fan of it. It has a great worn leather appearance and has maintained a great look over the years. One issue I have with the durability is that the metal bar which supports the top of the bag ripped through the leather, so not it can stick out. It’s not that bad, doesn’t stay like that, I just had to make sure it’s back in place. Also one of my buckles came off, and so now I have to use one buckle for the bag.Question for anyone, where do I buy replacement buckles for these?Overall, love the bag, highly recommend.

Great bag.
I get sooo many compliments on this bag at work. I'll post pictures soon. It's very sturdy, holds my laptop and all my stuff perfectly. I usually use the top handle, the grip is comfortable for my hands (I'm a woman), and the shoulder strap adjusted to the size I like. No strong smells, color was fantastic, and love that it will continue to age and color with use. The buckles latch easily. The color wasn't as dark as the picture, but if you want it exactly that color quickly I'm sure a little oil would do the trick.I loved the bullhorn logo on the bag pictured online, while the hlc logo isn't unattractive, it would have been cool to have the choice of logo or a personalized logo stamped into the leather, like my own initials.
