SunFounder 37 Modules Raspberry Pi Sensor Kit

First I would like to extend my thank you's to sunfounder. Why.. I asked if they had a link to download a manual, since I misplaced mine in moving. They did MUCH BETTER! They sent out a new one. Complete Colorful original manual!!. Now that is extending a customer service. You think :). Okay. Pros: All modules arrived in kit. It arrived well packaged and complete. The modules are very well made. Labeled on each piece. Cleanly marked. Wires and breadboard are excellent. The booklet included; is a step by step guide to each modules use. [ There are many uses- per module ] they are just a phew. BUT good examples. Take your time, enjoy the fruits of their labor in a well written and good example booklet. In COLOR too. All parts are individually sealed in protective anti static bags. Static electricity is a bummer. Be careful. The Box in which the plastic container houses all components is also well designed and shows off the contents well. Cons: Ya know - Really can not see any at this point. So - to sum things up. If you want to learn, experiment; generally become more knowledgeable and excited about possibilities - Buy the kit! Enjoy - don't get frustrated; good things take time. Hey it's all fun.

I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful the reading material that was included in this pack was. If you are new to RPi GPIO, this is a fantastic kit that will jump start up your learning. I have tried about a half dozen of these modules so far, and my only complaint is that the IR remote module does not seem to be working by following the instructions. Slightly frustrating as this was the main module I was interested in, and now I will have to look up what is wrong with the configuration. After leaving this review, someone from SunFounder was kind enough to e-mail me to make sure I got around my issue. Very great support.

This kit is pretty cool. The tutorials seem dated and occasional are a little vague on how to do things. Over all its great for learning programming and how to use modules. Wouldn't hurt to have a basic understanding of C (or C++) or Python coming in. It assumes you have a basic knowledge of programming.

I purchased this kit along with a new Raspberry Pi 3 about six weeks ago, and have been "goofing" around with the wiring and programming for most of the sensors included. "Goofing around" is almost an understatement. At a couple of points I had to give up on the wiring schematics, because they simply do not provide an accurate image of wiring the sensors to the breakout board, and in particular where more than one sensor is required. As an option the Fritzing diagrams are provided, but these aren't accurate enough to actually wire the 40 pin strap and breakout board by matching the wiring diagram. They are a type of schematic diagram intended to define connections - just not accurately for your board, apparently. Along with the wiring diagram, pictures of the finished project(s) are included as a visual assist. I suspect who ever took these images wasn't expecting them to be helpful. Everyone of them is from an angle that obscures what pins the wiring is actually connecting to. I also was looking for some programming support. While I'm knowledgeable in C and Python, understanding the sensor API's and their capabilities won't come from Sunfounder or it's community. If you want to understand sensor API, you have to get the info from the manufacturer. Even then, it will take some time and a learning curve if you are inexperienced with programming. Indeed, formatting the output of the sensor data is completely ignored. For example, most output is to a command window, so if you are hoping to look at nicely formated text and visual presentation, you'll need to create that yourself. Accessing ongoing development efforts requires that one spend a good deal of time searching for postings and articles from others experimenting with the same equipment. And it is a hodgepodge of submissions out there. I wouldn't get this for my grandkids unless they were at least pre-teen 11-12 and older, and have some conceptual understanding of electronics. They would need supervision as these are electronic components, and are sensitive to a variety problems including voltage mismatches and incorrect pin wires, which could damage the component, or other parts of your kit. On the other hand, I enjoy the challenge presented and have many ideas of how to use sensors in a variety of applications. Which was my goal when I set out to learn about them. This is where I started.

I have had this for a couple days now and I have really enjoyed each of the modules. The documentation for the tutorials is really well done on the Sunfounder website and from what I can see on the internet, it looks like this material has been improving over the years. There are a few spelling errors here and there and the pictures are sometimes out of date, but nothing that I think would detract someone from buying this product.

Really, really bad so far. 1) The book is this miniscule booklet. You have to go to the sourceforge and print the things out to have anything useful. That is really tedious. Why not just one PDF..and make it correct and current. 2) the color coding of the wires on the parts is WRONG. RED for GND?? 3) the color of the wires on the part and the colors of the wires on the diagrams are DIFFERENT!! BE CAREFUL!! 4) In every example in the book, the 3V, 5V, and one gnd are shown on the breadboard but the T-Board does not have pins connecting to those pins on the breadboard. The wiring is unnecessary! Looks like the diagrams are written for the Raspberry PI B T-Board, which used to connect up to the breadboard on the outer +/- rails, but no more and they didn't update the documentation. IF you have a Raspberry PI B+, I guess you don't need the outer rail pins or wires. Pretty shoddy. What else will be wrong??? I guess I'll find out. Hopefully the code will actually work.

Ottimo kit completo di libretto di istruzioni dove viene spiegato come utilizzare i vari sensori. E' possibile scaricare anche dal loro sito un'archivio contenente gli esempi illustrati nel libro, per tutti i sensori. I programmi sono scritti in C e in python perciò soprattutto per il 2° è molto semplice e accessibile anche alle nuove persone che si affacciano al mondo della programmazione. E' presente inoltre una scatola dove poter riporre i vari sensori e cavi una volta scartati e aperti per evitare di seminarli in giro :D La spedizione è stata molto veloce e l'imballaggio era buono! Consigliatissimo.

Kit muy completo repleto de toda clase de sensores y otras utilidades. Para familiarizarse con el funcionamiento de cada pieza, incluye un libro de instrucciones en inglés con información muy detallada para montar tus primeros proyectos. Además, en la web de SunFounder lo encontraréis en su versión online, con las librerías y el código en C y Python ya preparado. En resumen, ideal para romper la mano con la Raspberry. Todo el material va un poco a presión en una caja bastante práctica para mantenerlo todo recogido y organizado. Ojo, porque el adaptador en «T» que incluye es de 20 pines.

Just go them today and they look the business. The book is looks to be straight forward and I have checked out the online tutorials which also seem ok I cant wait to get cracking! MF

Livraison rapide. Tous les composants sont soigneusement emballés. La documentation en anglais est bien faite, les schémas sont clairs et les programmes documentés. Si comme moi vous voulez utiliser les composants sans breadboard, penser à acheter en plus des câbles femelle-femelle.

Das Produkt hat diverse Sensoren, die gut verpackt und später auch gut in der mitgelieferten Box verstaut werden können. Ein Handbuch mit praktischen Beispielen für das 'erste' Benutzen wird auch mitgeliefert. Alles in allem sehr gut überdacht und gemacht.
