Tuff ToeMolded Pitchers Cleat Guard Protector

Perfect
Kiddo was teasing the crap out of his cleat. Put this on over the hole and it's been golden ever since. Kiddo says it feels normal and doesn't disrupt his pitching motion at all.

Not good for softball pitchers
This product obviously works well ... where it works. The problem is my softall pitcher drags more of her instep than the guard will cover. We're seeing almost ZERO wear on the Tuff Toe but her shoe is wearing badly right next to it.Would love Tuff Toe to make a molded softball version, because the liquid applicator is a royal pain.

Good way to protect your shoes!
My daughter is a pitcher & wanted to try a brand of shoes that doesn’t offer a pitching toe with it. My husband watched the video & followed the instructions. Got a little messy applying the glue. It has held up great so far! Highly recommend.

A Real Pain
In concept would be a good product BUT in actuality it is a royal pain to put on.!! Horrible in all ways. Took me three hours to do this. I looked at the video three times. First of all it only comes with one glue tube and the sandpaper is a half an inch by 1 inch long. Fell apart when I used it the first time tour ripped was completely useless. Also it’s not a strong enough grade to actually scratch up the shoe so you have to work at it. For hours. So I got a different sandpaper so I had to spend money for that. It’s still took a good hour for me to scrape the shoe and scrape the inside of this toe grip. The video doesn’t bother telling you that when you’re using the dryer to heat the molding and the glue back up again; you are gonna burn your hands because you have the dryer on hot in order for it to melt and bring the product up to 110°.So your hands are frying because you have to bring the hairdryer so close to the product to warm it. And then you have to apply pressure constantly. So what happens is the edges don’t stick properly. Then you have to go back in and reapply the glue in the lifted sections which then makes a glue line all around the product making entire shoe look ugly. My son was horrified didn’t want to wear the shoes they were brand new shoes that we Adhered the product to. $80 shoes ruined because of this product!!!!!!!The worst !

If you play anything that has you throw overhand, this is a game changer!
Obviously this product is really intended for the baseball community; really just pitchers. And that’s fine! It is so excellent for pitchers and increases the overall life of your cleats so you aren’t buying a new pair every year, or walking around with one shoe looking like literal garbage and the other looking practically new! This eliminates that issue. I have also used this product on THREE pairs of non-cleat, hiking shoes or boots. I had to modify the product by cutting off some of the bottom, but it works so well all the same. I play a lot of disc golf, and I throw a lot of throws that are overhand and have me drag my back foot. Last year I bought one and it worked like a charm. I still have the same boots, and they are still in great condition. Still waterproof and gave me the confidence to buy more of this product to use on other pairs of shoes. Also, use some super glue when applying the goop they give you! It helps it to dry a bit quicker so you don’t have to hold it down forever.

Not sure juice is worth the squeeze for youth cleats
It was difficult to trim it down so it fit snugly. Once that step was done the adhesion wasn’t too hard. My daughter pitches every day so this looks like it will be durable. Not sure yet if it will be worth it since kids grow so quickly and youth cleats are much more expensive…

Adhesive Won't Hold
This is a solid concept, but the adhesive can't hold up to the abuse baseball pitchers inflict when dragging a cleat.I followed instructions to the letter, although I had to use my own sandpaper after the included piece wore out very quickly. I was skeptical the Tuff Toe would hold. Was surprised after a couple of weeks of my son's games that the Tuff Toe was still on.Then my son came home from a game a couple of nights ago: "My Tuff Toe popped off." He wasn't even pitching at the time!Outside of the hot glue used in factories, I can't think of an adhesive that would keep this thing on. The adhesive provided by Tuff Toe is completely inadequate in terms of gripping strength.
