An excellent pH meter.
I have had a couple of these small pH meters in the past. While they are certainly not as precise as the more expensive commercial pH meters like the blue lab ones that costs several hundred, these smaller ones are more practical and are far more affordable. A change in 0.01 for example will not make much difference in a hydroponic grow tank. They are more accurate than what you need for hydroponics, which is what I use them for. This one is no exception compared to the others I have purchased in the past except that it comes in a nice plastic holder-- something lacking in the other similar pH meters I have purchased in the past. Also included are instructions and three small packets needed to calibrate the device. What about calibration? All pH meters need calibration after using it for a long time. Even then, the slight difference in pH usually does not make much difference in hydroponics. One easy way to keep track is to measure your home tap water and remember the pH. Whenever you measure your home tap water changing significantly, it is probably time to calibrate again. This device is easy to use and I would recommend it for hydroponics.

No difficulty at all
The instructions were easy to follow, and the included buffered calibration solutions made calibration a breeze. I'd recently gotten frustrated with litmus paper that was off by 1 pH or more, and out of curiosity, I used the solution to test the paper as well. As I expected, the paper showed a 4.01 pH solution as >5 pH, making my citric acid solution WAY too strong. Now, I get accurate results and exactly the right strength, every time. I couldn't be happier, and I'm glad I bought this. I would most definitely recommend this device to anyone who is in need of accurate pH readings you can count on.

2nd Update - received a working model from the vendor. Initial Out-of-box testing reveals...
2nd Update: Vendor sent out a replacement. It did come with the cal packets and does turn on.Out-of-box "Accuracy" Test: I mixed up a solution (not with the cal packets) and tested it using my other aquarium ph tester and got 7.4. I then tested the solution with this digital PH meter and it read 7.15, just 0.25 lower than the other test. I whipped up a second batch at 6.7PH and the digital meter read it at 6.48. NOTE: this is not the most accurate test and due to the meter trailing by roughly 0.25ph I'll give it the "good enough" approval***.Out-of-box Repeatability: After measuring the 7.15Ph solution, I then dried the bulb and re-tested. the second test read 7.11 and the third test read 7.14. The repeatability is definitely good***.***These are my results and yours may vary. Please test your meter if accuracy is crucial.Update: customer service reached out and believed that the item was indeed broken during shipping. They offered to replace or refund the item. For this, I'll give them two stars back.Initial: The first PH meter received was broken. The item either broke during shipping or was never intended to work. The pH level continued to drop to 0 no matter what it was in. Tried calibrating but the device didn't work. PLEASE READ UPDATES.

So off, not worth it
The media could not be loaded. I have had this item for 5 minutes. I tested my drinking water to start with, and it was giving me a reading that changed every time in the 3s and 4s. I tested distilled water and got about the same thing. That means my drinking water, according to this reader, is about as acidic as vinegar or wine! So I decided to do the calibration. As you can see in the calibration video, it read every single one wrong. The order you are supposed to use the buffer solutions are 6.86, 4.01, then 9.18. That is how they are laid out in the video. You can see it reads the 6.86 as the 4.01, the 4.01 is nothing because it won't even calibrate that low so it won't end the calibration, and the 9.18 as the 6.86. I'd say we're off by an average of 3.0 ph, and that's a lot. I don't know what's up with this company, but I can't even contact them. So my way of doing so is leaving a review. I guess I just get my money back instead of getting a working meter. I waited 3 days for this meter because I needed it for my fish tank. Now I guess I gotta wait for some other one to come in here. I hope they understand when they get this item return that there's not going to be any buffer powder with it, since I had to use it to try to get it to work. I figured for the price it was worth it to give it a try. As long as I get my money back, no harm done. Save yourself the time and just get something else.

Too complicated for me

Yeah, just get it, it's fine
Works pretty damn well compared to a much nicer pH meter I use and it's also much easier to maintain and seems to need calibration even less frequently. I tend to use this over the nicer one. If you're on the fence about it, just grab it. I can't imagine you'll regret it.

Great tool
This was a great value.. Perfect to check my PH balance in my water for my plants being I don't have a pursuit water I have to use the water from my kitchen sink and wanted to make sure it wasn't too harsh for my plants.

Very inconsistent
I bought the one on the right one month ago. I calibrated it with the 6.86 solution today when i received my new one. Tested both at same time on my local tap water, and bamm what do I see. New one says 9.81 and old one days 9.18. Save your money buy a bluelab

Homebrewing
I use this to test the pH of my wines. This is certainly sufficient for the hobbyist. Definitely worth the money!

Not Happy
Not a good product, used it 3 times. The fourth it quit working. Tried to put it into calibration mode and it will not even calibrate.

Good enough for this guy
I actually don’t know for sure how accurate it is. It reads the same over and over, but is it giving me the correct reading? I’m not too sure, but I hope so. It would be nice if they included enough product to calibrate the unit more than once.Unit seems tough. The opening in the 4L bottles I get from Walmart just barely allows the meter to pop in, and I’ll give it a good bump to get in in and have no fear of it cracking.

Decent for price, didn’t last long
Purchased this product at the end of November, the ball on the bottom has now shattered. In the beginning it was an excellent reader, just did not last long. It was in use 2-3 times a week.
