The top does swivel to move from side to side right? I like being able to move it out of the way and also to clean the sink.

The top (curved spout) is quite movable and you'll have no trouble getting access to the sink(s) for cleaning. This is a very attractive product, and I'm glad I purchased it, even though a plumber charged about $350 to install it.

In spray mode, will it stay in spray mode even when you have the water on low, so you can get a very gentle spray?

Yes it will until it gets too low. I absolutely love this faucet!

What is the diameter of the base? The reason I ask is that the back splash is very close to the opening where the faucet will be installed.

Base diameter is exactly 60 mm. Note the faucet handle for hottest setting turns 41mm (1 5/8”) towards the backsplash, but the handle is higher. If the backsplash extends straight up, then handle turning will get a bit limited. Also note that there is a few mm (1-4 mm) room to position the faucet in a standard 1 3/8” countertop hole. So if your backsplash is 30 mm from the hole center, you can still install it by positioning the faucet by using the clearance between the hole and the faucet to your advantage. The dimensions are available in the faucet manual online.

Is the spray head made of plastic or aluminum? Where is it manufactured?
