Great Protective Case
I just received this case, tried it, and really like it. My 2 TB Seagate Backup Plus Slim fits into it like a glove. The blue is nice and bold, and the rubbery material is thick. It doesn’t add bulk to my hard drive, which I can still easily slip into the front pocket a MacBook Air sleeve. I had been just putting the hard drive into the sleeve as-is and wanted something to protect it from being jostled against my laptop charger or other things in there with it. The case also keeps my hard drive from skating around on the surfaces where I use it. The cord organizer on the back is my least favorite feature. It feels thin, like it could easily stretch too far and/or snap off, so I most likely won’t be using it. In general, I feel more comfortable toting my little portable drive around in this case. While it isn’t exactly shock-proof, it does offer more peace of mind. I’m very happy I decided to buy it.

It is easy to put on and gives the external hard drive ...
This case fits the Seagate Slim Backup Plus perfectly. It is easy to put on and gives the external hard drive extra protection. I am happy with this purchase. I bought this as a gift for my husband to go with the external hard drive I got him. He is really happy with both and I hope to get one for myself in the future. My husband likes to take his computer and hard drive with him places. We travel a lot and like to use it for movies. He also travels a lot for work so this was definetly needed. The case is nice and gives it the extra padding needed for when he just has it set in his backpack with his laptop.

Good grip without bulk
Exactly what I wanted -- these rubbery cases gives my Seagate drives enough "grip" that I'm less likely to drop one while handling. Also, allows me to stack two drives on my desktop without worry that one will slide off the other. These aren't "shock-proof, drop-proof" cases (like an Otterbox for a cellphone), so don't expect protection from a six-foot drop onto a concrete slab, but these cases provide exactly what I wanted: a better "grip" without adding much bulk. Very pleased, would buy again, gladly recommend to others.

Your Drive Will Be Drop Resistant!
The case is an all-around good case. It fits really well and snuggly around the drive. It protects the drive to the point where if you accidentally drop it off your desk, you won't be worried that the drive was damaged. It also add a nonstick future to the drive, now your drive won't slide around or scratch your desk.On the back of the case is a small rubber strap, that you can store your USB 3.0 cord in: just coil the cord and slid it in.I would recommend buying this case, if you plan on traveling or moving the drive often because it will prevent against damage from accidental bangs and drops.I also would buy it in LIME GREEN because it looks cool!

It's a great cover and feels well made
It's a great cover and feels well made... It's Seagate brand too, so it's not like an off-market poorly fit cover that was mass produced in a foreign country... My reason for taking off 1 star though, is that I didn't realize when looking at the photos that it was always just showing the front side of the drive. I thought and was hoping for this to be a "bumper" cover, just like a big squarish "O" shape that went around the edges. What you don't see in the images is that the back/bottom of the drive is fully covered by this case. It has slits in it that I imagine are for ventilation, but it's still 98% fully covered. Not a big deal to me, as it's the drive I take out with my drone and gopro for on the fly video archiving and storage, so the drive gets knocked around, and tossed in my backpack, so I guess the added protection on the back side is a benefit, but my entire drone, accessories, and gopro cases are outfitted in black and lime green and this complements it all perfectly (especially with my lime green drive cable, so I can't complain there, either.

A must have if you're a klutz like me!
Perfect for my external hard drive. Fits like a glove and has kept it safe from all the times I forget its there and drop it on the floor!!! It is much bulkier, but it keeps your precious data safe. A must have!

Perfect on So Many Levels!
First of all, the case makes distinguishing multiple external hard drives from one another (which is originally why I bought it). Secondly, it adds a really nice grip to an otherwise "slippery" product. And lastly, it has a great loop in the back to hold the cable for the hard drive.

It is not a Case, it is a partial Cover
First of all, this is not a case as I understand the word. This is a rubber cover that fits around the drive with one side open. The cable storage is just two slits in the back of the cover that you can pull out like a thick rubber band and shove the cable under the resulting loop of cover material. Of course this ruins the ability of the drive to lie flat. This may have some use just to keep the cable associated with the drive while transporting it in a large container (or legitimate case)The cover does add some minor protection against shock if the unit is bumped or dropped providing the drive lands with some luck. It also makes the drive a bit easier to grip because when installed it provides a rubber surface on all but one side. This cover is vastly overpriced for what you get compared to a real case such as the ones from Amazon Basics or Case Logic in my opinion. The drive in its rubber cover will fit snugly into the Amazon Basics Case for what that is worth.I will keep the cover on a drive to differentiate the drive from its twin in a backup rotation. probably in a real case.I must have been very, very tired when I ordered this
