I cannot sing the praises of this enough. I've bought 3 sets of these soft far. Over the Christmas season, I run a light show at my home and as such needed to put controllers for my christ light trees and props outside the house. They needed to be synced via ethernet. I used these in the junction boxes I purchased on amazon to get a watertight seal for the ethernet cable. And it works. We have had sub zero temperatures here over the last few days and I still haven't had a problem. I highly recommend these to anyone considering them.

This is exactly what I needed on my controller boxes, for my light shows! I love the fact that I can just measure from my network switch to the outside of the box and not have to worry about how much I need inside the box and worry about running a PG 7 Cable gland. I buy 1000 feet of cat 6 Cable at a time and with these, I can just make the connection on the outside of the box. These allow me to build my boxes well before I’m ready to run the cable outside and have the boxes ready to go when I’m ready to set up outside.

I have purchased these several times for my animated lights controller with no issues. These stay outside for months in the cold, rain, snow and high winds and haven't had a single issue with leaks or failures.

These dongles are NOT water proof. Water somehow gets in even when securely screwed shut tight. Upon finding my electronics not working I opened up three dongles and water actually poured out. It shorted out my control units for a light show and during the whole week of Christmas my light show was not all working. I can see why there is only a 30 day warranty. Do not buy!

I wanted to mount this as a bulkhead connector but that is not possible. I also needed Cat6 and this is CAT5 (although, I can't see any markings)

Great items I didn’t have any issues and they fit perfectly in my application.

Not a shielded cable. No shield wire in cable. If you take it apart you will see. I gave it 4 stars just because you can still use it for non shielded applications.
