A must-have for sci-fi fans, experience the classic series that launched the Battlestar Galactica phenomenon, now presented in widescreen and high-definition! Battlestar Galactica: The Original Series: Hopeful for lasting peace following centuries of intense warfare, the Twelve Colonies gather to sign a treaty with their dreaded enemies, the Cylons. But after an act of treachery on the eve of the ceremony, the Cylons launch a devastating surprise attack, destroying the Colonies' home planets and most of their military strength. A lone flagship battlestar, the Galactica, remains to aid the surviving colonists on their epic journey for a new home to a far-off legendary planet—Earth. Galactica 1980: The Complete Series: 30 years after the events of Battlestar Galactica, the original crew finally makes the long-anticipated descent to Earth. With time running out and the Cylons closing in on their trail, Commander Adama and the Galactica must work harder than ever before to help Earth create the technology necessary for battle. Battlestar Galactica: The Remastered Collection includes over 4 hours of bonus features, including over 3 hours of deleted scenes from Battlestar Galactica: The Original Series. The collection also includes featurettes such as "Glen Larson on the Creation of Battlestar Galactica" and "Stu Phillips: Composing the Score" with an inside look at the creation of this remarkable production, and "Remembering Battlestar Galactica," a 45-minute documentary illuminating the journey and impact of this ground-breaking series. Review: It comes with two sets the Battlestar Galactic series and the 1980s series - I’m so happy with the visuals especially that now I can see it in full wide screen for my TV. It’s fantastic and it also comes with the sub package of the 1980 Battlestar Galactica show as well. Good nostalgia and very good memories. Review: Original Battlestar Galactica Lives On - I remember when Battlestar Galactica first came on the scene with a Worldcon and other conventions before it was even on the air. Advance paperback editions of the first episode. Then the night it came on a big event for the 3 hour first episode that got inturrepted by the Camp David Accords of the leaders of Israel, Egypt and United States. Then ABC put on several episodes to high ratings, It gained many of us who loved it. You had Loren Green, Richard Hatch, Dirk Bennedict, Herb Jefferson John Colocis, and many other regular actors in addition to Jane Seymour, Loyd Bridges, Patrick Macnee and many others. This series streams but you have to pay for each episode on desertcart Prime. Seeing it now on the Blu ray version in widescreen enhances it even more as well as the restoration of every episode. I also remrmber there was a little bit different naration at the beginning that had to be changed because Patrick Macnee said far far away amongst the stars. It was changed because George Lucas of Star Wars took it to court and won because whatever reason. If you want the orginal narration you can get the theactrical movie of Battlestar Galactica on blu ray or DVD and its a collectors item. I love the episodes here and this collection also includes Galactica 1980 that I have always felt had some good episodes that added a bit to the original. I like many see the flaws and agree with some but the last episode The Return of Starbuck is a great way for the Glen A Larson series to end. To me this is a treasure trove also with a lot of bonus things that makes this collection so special. I know many of the people who have panned the reboot of Galactica 1980 wanted the original but you can Blame ABC for the many faults that the both Battlestar Galactica programs had. I feel too many people where just too much purists and wanted an extension but it could not happen because not all actors could come back. I on the other hand have always found something to like about the spinoff. I feel this is same kind of thinking when Star Trek The Next Generation came along and purists who remain that way today wanted the first series. I have always been the opposite and love all of those other shows. I can not say that about the most recent Battlestar ones I could not ever get into it because it was too hard to follow with cylon humans and other types of cylons. I prefer the original two that are a great collection in the same boxed set. I did recently a marathon of them and wow have enjoyed it even more

Great picture quality
I have the original DVD release of this. 4:3 aspect ratio, it's like watching back in the 70s. These are a good remastering and I like that you can watch it full screen on a 16:9 TV. I hesitated to buy this because I had the DVDs already but these are a worthy upgrade and I will never watch the DVDs again. No need to get into the show details. If you're looking at these, you already know what it is. If you enjoyed the show you will want this set.

It's now a bit corny but still a good show to watch.
It was good to watch the original TV series again. The original seems corny now, but it's a good feeling show to watch.

Tribes of Cobalt unite!?
I remember this show and liked it, but was never sure if I've seen all the episodes and being a little kid I didn't really remember the ones I did see. So it was nice to be able to find this collection and I discover a spin off I was completely unaware of. I will admit the Galactica 1980 is not as good. I don't know if casting issues or budget problems kept the original storyline from continuing, but that's the path I would've gone. This was a nice trip down memory lane I enjoyed watching. The guys were cool and the ladies were hot. What more could a boy want to watch back then.

Battlestar puts Star Trek blurays to shame
Battlestar gives absolute proof that older show can be revamped into 16:9. Those studios that have remastered but not created 16:9 (Paramount/Star Trek) are put to shame by this title's existence. Thank you Universal and BuyGlobal for making it available to me.
