Bonds and Destiny
Eco has transformed into her dragon form and is attacking the city. Ash seems helpless to stop her, but assistance comes from an unexpected source - Milgauss. His past is revealed and the reason why he killed his dragon. But Mordred is having his own issues - Navi is helping Eco resist him and Eco begins her path to her destiny - as well as her partner's. Can they stop the dark dragon, or will Navi and Eco be absorbed into an ultimate evil. This arc ends, with both Eco and Ash starting their path to their destiny. The story and well drawn art really flow well in this story. The bonus chapters are the usual ecchi trope (breast sizing, panties and heart searching), nothing offensive or out of the ordinary. I look forward to this great series as the author knows what the fans enjoy with the deep story that he has written. Can not wait for the next.

Unbelievable....
As I was reading through this volume it seemed to be a decent read.... Eco's true powers being unearthed, the height of confrontation with Mordred which, with that out of the way, would give the protagonists some "breathing room". There was an odd portrait of maybe a five-year-old girl removing her sweater - - no defined nudity. Other presentations, however, no defined nudity for the first half of the work. Tentacles returned unfortunately, though, clothes still on character.... You think they would understand that harnessing women with tentacles in a post-feminist era is the "third rail" of illustration. I know some of you will not believe this, but coming to the end of the main story I was prepared to issue the work four [4] out of five [5]. But, apparently, the main story could not stand on its own "merits" for whatever reason and they saw fit to include a "bonus" section. In that addendum, we witness detailed nudity of the underdeveloped Eco, wherein she is explaining to Ash that if he rubs her natural endowments they will "grow". This emphasis on the physical was not the wisest move in my opinion. Research suggests that teen girls have enough angst concerning their outer appearance, and this foists this delicate subject right to the fore. You have to come to a place of inner contentment, not beholden to what popular media dictates is posh. In scope of imagery that may be construed as religiously offensive, I did witness perhaps some sort of magical symbol at the end of the work, I don't necessarily hold that this was problematic.Concluding, a solid storyline disgraced by an unnecessary "fan service" detour - - one [1] out of five [5]. Ran explains at the end of the work that the aim moving forward will be to continue bringing "vivid" illustrations.... I believe the problem is going for too much. Volume 7's core storyline had the girth. Sometimes, less is more. I think we can all agree, that a little fan service (not overdone) strewn throughout will not cause too much disruption; however, the creators dedicated an ENTIRE SECTION to just frivolity that did not really undergird the main story in any way, shape, or form. Alas, we will see if the next volume can avoid the pitfall of an entirely wasted section.Take care,S.B.
