The For Your Dog Shed Blade helps reduce shedding by removing loose, dead hair. Textured handle for added control. Review: Bargain and the pups love it. - One of the best purchases I have ever made. Works great to de-shed the pups so the hair is in the trash and not in my house. Easy to use and the dogs like it. It doesnt seem to rip out the hair like other products. And a bargain too! Review: Works great, and my dogs even seem to like it... - This works great for getting that really fluffy undercoat fur that forms tumbleweeds all over your house. What really got me excited about, besides the price (cheap as free), was that my dogs actually seemed to kind of like it. They're normally big babies about any kind of grooming, but they looked almost sleepy while I was using the Shed Blade on them. Highly recommend you scoop this one up. WARNING: Use it outside or it will be raining fur all over your house.

Very pleased
No experience with other shedding blade tools, so I have no basis for comparison --- but this is SO MUCH better than the pronged brushes that fill up and constantly need to be cleaned out, interrupting the whole process. Pups love it. Even tho the pointers don't shed much, it is great for cleaning dander, etc and stimulating the skin. Labs could fill mattresses.... be sure to do this outside! Two depths of serrations good for different coats. Ergonomic handle good for my tired old hands. It's very lightweight & easy to manipulate, just wonder how long it will hold up under heavy use.........

Great value for this shedding blade
Great value for this shedding blade. My dog has short hair and sheds a moderate amount. It pulls off a lot of loose hair, and it works much better for us than other tools we've tried such as combs or brushes. My dog also loves getting brushed with this and will sit still for an hour letting me brush her. We do it outside because it pulls off hair but doesn't catch it. You could empty it into a bag or something, but I just tap the blade on the ground to loosen the hair and it blows away. It was a great price and so far it has held up well.

GRREAT
This thing is awesome! Works great for our springer spaniel, the cats and especially the rabbits. Definitely worth the few bucks you pay. Just make sure you use it outdoors as the brush isn't made to catch the fur on itself so it would make a mess indoors.

less than mediocre - UPDATE - AUGUST 2016 - BROKEN HANDLE
I cannot agree with all the positive reviews. This tool just doesn't work that well. I currently have four large dogs and seven cats (foster mom). My biggest canine shedder is a mastiff/german shepherd mix. I lucked out and got the mastiff drool AND the shepherd shedding. This tool does dislodge some fur, but no more than if I were simply petting her with my hand. I have far more success with the Zoom Groom, especially when I follow up with the Furminator. I would never judge a grooming tool on how it works on just one type of coat, so I tried it next on my No. 2 shedder, a black lab/rottweiler mix. It was even less effective on him. Again, a better bet was to start with the Zoom Groom to loosen the fur - this time following up with a fine toothed plastic pocket comb. I'm not out to specifically recommend the Zoom Groom or the Furminator (or pocket combs, for that matter) - there are many, many tools in my grooming arsenal that work better than the Shed Blade. I did find a use for this tool, though, on a cat that hates being groomed. Though it doesn't remove much fur, it is helping him become conditioned to grooming. It might also be a good tool for pets with sensitive skin - I don't have any right now, so I can't say for sure. Since I did find a limited use for it, and since it cost so little, I gave it two stars. UPDATE - August 19, 2016 Even though I don't use this tool much, and use it very gently on cats, the plastic handle has already broken. It still holds both ends of the metal strip to form a loop, but I won't be using it anymore. I'd hate for it to break completely open in the middle of combing somebody - especially if they're already uncomfortable with being groomed.

Three Stars
It's kinda small but works fine.

Cheaply made, rough
I lost my previous shedding blade. This one is a cheap replacement that isn't quite as nice as our old one (green handle, sturdier metal). The old one seemed to get more hair and wasn't quite as rough as this one. You get what you pay for.
