On 1st setting (lowest) the light stays on forever. Each setting higher gives you less light time. I’ve found the difference between the lowest and highest light output is negligible. I’ve never felt like I needed to go to higher setting and lowest setting emits plenty of light, plus the charge lasts 2 times as long. The company states at the lowest level the charge lasts 8 hours and I’ve found that to be true. The magnet that is used to keep light In place is very strong, which gives the lamp more functionality as far as aiming the light to your work area. Overall the light does what it says it will do, even better. I guess you get what you pay for and in this case, that’s a good thing.
