Good Quality Stuff
Good product for a good price, easy for DIY install, keep in mind that parts actually included in the kit are different from the picture, I believe Sommer has slightly changed the kit but never updated pictures. I would like to highlight the build quality of Sommer products, every washer, every nut is real, not cheap homedepot stuff.

Excellent, well designed option
Excellent, well designed option. Installed on my Wayne Dalton doors with a little modification. Smooth and cleanest design for overhead garage doors. No overhead rails when complete.

Requires torsion springs
Unfortunately both customer service and the product description did not mention that you must have torsion springs for this side mount kit to work. The idea is good and I may contact a professional to convert my garage to torsion springs, but until I do that, this product will not work for me. Hopefully this review helps someone else with extension springs make an educated decision. Almost broke the door when it tried to lift from one side with the extension springs.

Got the job done.
Other than the fact the instructions suck and it needs to be lined up just right, it works perfectly.

I have a Wayne dalton door and the top roller assembly will not allow you to install this side mount kit.

Did not need extension springs
We had no headroom. Side mounted a Sommer door opener on a low head roo track with torsion springs. Works great and would do this again.

Best opener I've ever had.
Great product! The unit is so quiet and smooth you hardly know it is operating. However, the installation instructions are inadequate and somewhat confusing. I suggest accessing YouTube for a step by step video demonstration.
