Steal of a deal, this must me MTECH's attempt to get more customers.
At 13 dollars this is a steal. I like this weapon better than my KA-BAR. The blade is sharper than any knife i have ever received. I couldn't have sharpened it better. That is first considering all the sharpening equipment i have I absolutely love the handle. It fits perfectly in my hand. And the full tang design is sweet. You can see the blade on both sides of the handle and the the end of the blade is the actual loop hole for a lanyard or something of that nature. The sheath alone is worth more than 13 dollars. its the best sheath i have ever see for a blade. I bought a second one right away at 13 bucks. The Sheath that comes with this knife is excellent. The sheath itself is worth the 13 bucks spent on this blade. The edge come perfect, polished, and very sharp. I Also recently bought the KA-BAR USMC knife. That came with and uneven sharped blade and half of it couldn't even cut through paper. That blade only has a rat tail and the craftsmanship was just plane half-assed, especially for a $70 knife that sales for $100 dollars at places like Cabelas and Sportsman Warehouse. This blade cuts through paper easier than any knife i have seen. You don't even have to make any cutting motion, you can just push it without pulling, and it makes easy work of the paper test. I could shave with this blade as i received it (albeit a probably risky not to mention a semi rough shave). The blade has held up amazingly to the torture i have put it through, i have not had to do more than stropping it a couple times very quickly to keep the blade working at peak performance. The edge is a very step edge, built more like my KA-BAR machete and built to last against extreme use like chopping wood and other camping/survival activity. This is the perfect Blade to come with you camping, or to just sit in you Bug out Bag. The price allows you to buy such a quality blade for your back up in your bag and not to be hit very hard at all for it. Its honestly a still of a deal. Get it before they start asking more for it, cause I am pretty sure they eventually will once it starts selling like crazy after word gets around.

I LIKE MTECH HERE ARE SOME POINTERS
HOW TO PURCHASE AN MTECH: (1) MAKE SURE TO GET THE RIGHT QUALITY MTECH FOR YOUR NEEDS. THERE IS "MTECH USA" AND "MTECH USA XTREME." MTECH USA USUALLY IS MADE FROM 440 STEEL (PROBABLY 440A) WITH A THINNER BLADE, LOWER WEIGHT, AND COSTS LESS. MTECH USA XTREME LIKE THIS MODEL IS USUALLY MADE FROM 440C STEEL WITH A THICKER BLADE AND COSTS MORE (STILL PRETTY INEXPENSIVE THOUGH). THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO USUALLY COMES DOWN TO 440 VS. 440C STEEL, STEEL THICKNESS AND WEIGHT. (2) MAKE SURE YOU GET A NEW MTECH. YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE MTECH ALWAYS TAPES ITS BOXES CLOSED AND WRAPS THE BOX CONTENTS IN PLASTIC. SO CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU GET A NEW, UNOPENED BOX WITH THE CONTENTS PROPERLY WRAPPED -- OTHERWISE IT HAS BEEN OPENED AND IS NOT NEW. (3) INSPECT EVERYTHING CAREFULLY. IN THE PAST SOME MODELS (THE MT-151) HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH BENT BLADES. NOT SURE WHY. ANYWAY, INSPECT IT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS STRAIGHT. (4) SECURE ANY SCALE SCREWS WITH LOCTITE. SOME MODELS LIKE THIS ONE HAVE SCREWS THAT SEEM TO LOOSEN WITH HEAVY USE. LOCTITE RED SOLVES THAT PROBLEM. (5) LIGHTLY SHARPEN AS NEEDED. THESE DO NOT SEEM TO REQUIRE ANY LENGTHY SHARPENING TO GET AN EXTREMELY SHARP EDGE. (6) CONSIDER WHETHER YOU NEED A BETTER SHEATH. MTECH SHEATHS ARE BASIC AND FUNCTIONAL, USUALLY NYLON REINFORCED WITH PLASTIC AND A LOOP FASTENED BY SNAP OR VELCRO TO KEEP THE KNIFE FROM FALLING OUT. BUT FOR SOME PURPOSES YOU WILL WANT A MORE ADVANCED SHEATH GIVING YOU BETTER OPTIONS. (7) ENJOY! YOU WILL PROBABLY FIND THAT YOU HAVE A GREAT KNIFE AT A LOW PRICE. THIS PARTICULAR MODEL IS LIGHT WITH A VERY COMFORTABLE HANDLE. IT IS POSSIBLY MTECH'S BEST ALL-AROUND TACTICAL / SURVIVAL KNIFE.

What you would expect from mtech, but bigger.
So this is a large knife, about the size of a Ka-bar. It has a very thick blade, though I cannot vouch for the strength of the steel itself. Full-tang. WARNING: My handle was not black like in the picture, it actually came in desert digital camo, which I was a little pissed about, but decided to keep. I bought this knife for an expedition into Costa Rica, and while I did not use the knife often, it did hack through a water vine pretty well, which is equivalent to tree branch. Unfortunately, when I flew back home and took the knife out of my luggage, I noticed that the blade had actually begun to rust in its sheath from the extreme humidity of the rain-forest. The rust was minimal and I was able to clean it off with WD-40, but it can definitely rust into junk if you do not keep it oiled. The knife is labeled as being made of 440C stainless steel, which shouldn't rust, yet mine rusted. WTF? I also hammer something with the hilt of knife, and a small amount of paint scratched off. The sheath is made of durable nylon, and its design allows you to strap it to you leg and belt, which came in very handy while hiking, horseback riding, and driving. There is a plastic sheath inside the nylon which actually contains the knife and protects the nylon from getting cut by the blade. This inner plastic sheath actually fell apart because it is held together by a strip of foam and glue which could not handle being beat up by the long hikes. I can reglue it with a stronger glue and it should be fine. Like the other M-techs I own, this knife comes sharp, but does not hold an edge well at all. I have a well-used CRKT Drifter which has maintained a sharper edge over months of use, and this M-tech is already as dull as the older CRKT blade. The knife is huge, intimidating, and beautifully sculpted. I felt extremely confident going into the jungle with this thing securely strapped to my leg. I am extremely disappointed by the rusting, which at this point has slightly ruined the fine black polish on the blade. I will still carry this weapon on my other expeditions, but I keep it well-greased to prevent further damage. If you are like me, and you fell in love with the design of the knife, then be prepared to have to maintain this blade by regularly sharpening and oiling it. Otherwise look for a better survival knife which will not rust and hold a better edge. I think that for $20, you are getting an extremely great value. Pros: -Heavy thick blade -Full tang -Sharp fine-edge and thick sharp serrations will saw/hack through wood with ease -Amazing heavy-nylon sheath, which straps very securely and comfortably to your leg -440C Stainless steel (the hardest of stainless steels) Cons: -Blade will rust if not oiled regularly -Plastic inner-sheath is cheaply glued together and may fall apart -Black paint can scratch off. -Specify which kind of handle you want on your knife; black, desert camo, other?

Sturdy, simple knife at a great price
This knife is great. It's surprisingly huge and sturdy, and it's easy to sharpen. I have pretty big hands, and the knife handle fits my hands quite comfortably. There is a tiny bit of play in the handle (one side is just a little loose) but with the proper tools and a dab of superglue it would be just fine. And for what I use this for, it's not really a problem anyway. Beautiful knife. You're getting about double or triple the value in well-built knife and quality sheath if you buy this. MTECH catches crap for making cheap knives, but as a college student just needing a heavy tactical/work knife and not having much money, this knife is fantastic. I'd gladly buy another to leave in my car, and I probably will.

Very pleased, excellent for the price.
I received everything just as the description stated, full tang sexy black finish, tanto point 440. USA Premium design. In a TIMELY fashion as well. The knife is a BEAST in general. Pretty dang sharp off the bat. I like my knives sharper but this is more than expected. I think the knife is pretty durable. I got pretty small hands so its a lot to manage, but, in a S.h.t.f situation, I would still be able to surpass with the knife because after the hook in the blade there's still about 2 inches of blade I'm able to easily manage for bush craft widdling, minor cutting, ect. The sheath seems durable, other than the fact the saw probably in time will wear it down. But I guess we'll see. I like how it clips together around your thigh plus the belt loop. (Adjustable) Outside pouch can hold sharpener or fire starter. Perfect for what it's suppose to be, don't expect to be able to pack this beast around like a pocket knife. I have done a lot of hacking and stabbing mostly testing out the grips, because obviously they will break at some point, so far so good. But its full tang so slap some paracord on it And your good. And evebtually the black finish will wear off(not a problem so far"And if you don't know how to sharpen a knife, you should learn haha. Very satisfied.

Very Impressed!
Just arrived, and the first two things i noticed right off the bat were the size and weight of this knife, very impressed immediately! It is bigger than i expected and had a good solid weight to it, which I like. Looking the knife over further i noticed the fit and finish of this knife was also very impressive. In the hand the knife felt good, well balanced. The sheath that came with the knife is nice, sturdy, and lined with plastic to prevent cutting when taking out and putting in the knife. I have not seen this on many knives at this price. The button and strap that hold the knife in place are heavy duty. The extra pocket on the outside of the sheath would be great to hold a fire starter, or a small pocket knife. Only 2 criticisms i have about this knife, and I didn't feel they were worthy of taking off a star for the price of this knife. 1, the handle was a little thin, but not awkwardly. I have med/large hands and It still felt comfortable in my hand. 2, The two screws that hold the handle together are a little small, but time will tell if they hold up, i think they will. I have purchased a lot of knives of different types, size, price range and style and i can honestly say this i probably the best bang for the buck that i have spent. I will be buying more of these as they are the perfect camping/survival/Bug Out kit kind of Knife in my opinion. After i actually use the knife i will update the review if need be, but don't hesitate to purchase this, you wont be disappointed! As Always, Amazon Prime is so worth it!

Product Review
Well, I can say that I am extremely satisfied with this knife. You should see it. And if you buy it I think you will love it too. Starting with the cost for this quality knife, it is incredible. Thank you MTech for your creativity and consideration of putting this product out there for people with a budget. If you purchase this knife you will appreciate the workmanship put into the work. The design, shape, ruggedness and the feel in your hand. The sheath has many options to carry on the person as well as on a backpack. I have to say that just a few months ago I've developed interest in knives, so I'm not an experience person with the subject, however, I believe that you don't have to be an expert to appreciate quality when you see it. This knife will satisfy my needs as a field knife and tactical one too. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful knife. Unfortunately mine has uneven shape on left ...
Beautiful knife. Unfortunately mine has uneven shape on left and right. So it doesn't mirror each other. It doesn't affect the functionality but if you're an anal person, you might be a little bit upset. Maybe I got a slight defective product. Otherwise, it's a heck of a knife. It came not very sharp. You need to sharpen it a bit and it's a little bit tricky especially to sharpen the middle edge where it curves. You can't use a regular sharpening stone. I end up buying a sharpening diamond pen from ebay because it's cylindrical shape fits with that curve. After that the knife becomes very sharp. It's around 5 mm thick. The saw like top side doesn't really do anything but decoration. Don't expect to even make a notch with it unless you do some modification. If you want to use baton to split wood with this knife, that saw part will eat up your baton a little bit somehow but it will work. The tanto tip is very sharp and easily pierce a thin paper that I throw in the air. It's says made of 440C Stainless Steel. I don't know how durable it is because so far I only have it as an emergency knife in my backpack. The grip is molded plastic and pretty comfortable for smaller to medium hand. The sheath that comes with it has extra pocket on the front that fit magnesium firestarter and my sharpening diamond pen. Overall for the price I paid that is less than $15, it's one heck of a knife. Very good value for a backup tactical or survival knife.

Great knife!
For the price, this knife cannot be beaten! It was originally 39.99 and the day I went and looked at it, the price had dropped to 23 and change. I purchased immediately! To my surprise when it arrived 2 days later, I couldn't get over the size and heft of this knife, I am a skilled knife sharpener and this knife out of the box was RAZOR sharp! I was impressed! I stropped it a bit and all that did was make a shave sharp knife, even more, shave sharp! The compound style blade is great, though the front portion of the blade is meant for slicing while the flat back side of the blade is meant for scraping, the teeth on top are not meant for sawing though you could get away with it, these teeth are meant for cutting wire like a barbed wire fence. The grips are supposedly made of a nylon reinforced plastic (whatever that means), the knife itself is a full tang constructed tool with thumb rise up top and a protruding rear pommel with lanyard loop. The blade body has a decorative design that almost looks like water droplets. Black Powdercoat blade finishes it off nicely. Then there is the included ballistic nylon sheath that is worth the entire price of the knife! The sheath features a plastic lined inner construction, with a buckle/strap leg secure along with a paracord rope with drawstring sprung keeper and belt loop. You won't be sorry for buying this knife! It is over 12 inches in length is heavy and sharp and the knife itself is also constructed of 440C Stainless Steel!

Durable, decent sheath, build quality looks good.
Very good value. Doesn't come very sharp, but sharpens up nicely. She's is decent given the cost of the knife.

Produto excelente!

Cool knife
Very cool looking knife. Good value. Comfortable in the hand. Haven't really used though lol. So I can't speak to its sturdiness.
