easy watch
I enjoyed this movie a lot. No it is not exciting. No there is no violence or blood. It was just fun to watch..made me smile a lot. I know most people don't know anything about Orthodox Jews.. but if this movie makes you think & see them as actual human beings with lives & hopes & dreams like the other parts of society...then GOOD. This is sort of like an old fashioned movie...just go make popcorn & curl up on the sofa.

Super-cute movie
Light-hearted and really enjoyable. A little slow to start, and very predictable overall, but still fun to watch.

A Kosher Baseball Tale with Donnie Most of "Happy Days"
This film could have a little more baseball action to be a better watch that is for sure. But, "Yankles" is a Kosher Baseball Tale with Donnie Most of "Happy Days" That in and of itself gives the film a little more street credibility and watchability. Try it!

Cute film but not accurate portrayal of Orthodox Jews
Cute movie. But be advised. I can tell you as an orthodox Jew and Yeshiva student that they got just about everything about our religion and culture wong. I was laughing throughout the film at just how wrong everything is. From the dress and pronounciation to the structure of the Yeshiva and the way the guys hang out. As well as many of the customs and meals which may be similar to the real thing but not really. If you want to watch this film, watch it for the entertainment but dont think that you are going to learn anything about Orthodox Jews.

Dull, plodding
Every minute more labored than the next, Amazon no longer allows you to abandon a film and rate it w/out finishing it. Torture.

Very enjoyable even though a bit hokey
Very cute movie, even though not realisti,c but definitely worth renting or adding to your video collection. The premise is more than a stretch. No Haredi (Chassidic) Yeshiva would field a baseball team with other colleges and the Mormon actors often butcher the Hebrew pronounciation, even for a Yeshivish accent. Rabbinical Yeshivot (plural of Yeshiva) don't usually have 'grades' and student can range from high school through retired seniors. But if you can get past that, and most everyone will, it's a fun piece of cinema. Well acted, well videographed and well put together.

Fun Show
While the beginning was a little slow, the film built up and turned in a great performance. Funny, poignant and inspiring. Themes of forgiveness, redemption, family, commitment to God, and unity figure in the story. I recommend it!
