Great little folding knife
For such an inexpensive knife, I'm very impressed so far. Granted, I just got it and haven't beaten it up too much yet. But so far, I really like it.First off, it's a very nice weight. It feels good in my hand, and the handle is a nice size. I don't really know what the big loop on the back end of the handle is for, but you can always spin it on your finger if you want. (Not sure why you'd want to, but you could.) The knife came fast and arrived on time. The assisted opening is very nice, and the blade comes out very fast and locks solidly in place. The liner lock itself meets the blade very far up the side, so there's no way the knife could ever close accidentally. The handle styling is nice, and the handle itself is a bit bigger than you might think, given the smaller blade size. I don't mind it at all.The blade is sharper than I was expecting it to be, although it doesn't meet the 'shaving sharp' test. Still, for most blades, you really don't want that sharp an edge... the sharper the edge, by definition, the more easily you can damage/chip it. This is very good 'utility' sharp, and I don't see a need to bring the edge up at all. It would get through rope and handle other 'around the house/camp' chores pretty well, and I would feel comfortable having this with me as a backup on a camping trip. (It wouldn't be my primary, though...) For you back-alley types, I really don't see this is a practical fighting knife. Blade shape and length really aren't what you should be looking for.The more I think about it, the blade shape really seems to be more of a skinning configuration. But although this blade would be very good at working on game, I can't imagine you'd want a folding knife for that sort of messy work. Cleaning the mechanisms afterward would be a nightmare. (But I'm not a hunter, so what the heck do I know...)So, to sum up, great little general purpose knife for the price. Solid folder that has the added advantage of looking really cool. Glad I bought it.

Good for self-defense and utility purposes and is also cheap.
I received this knife within 2 days of purchase. Came in a generic box sporting the Whetsone cutlery brand. Out of the box the knife was massive as stated in the amazon specs. The handle has a small screwed in g10 handle which I think is a nice addition. On the other side of the handle is a pocket clip which is useful when lugging around. The spring assist is very responsive but not too responsive as to open in your pocket with light force. However, since the knife is very big I wouldn't recommend carrying due to the fact the finger hole is pretty big and gets in the way of positioning your hand fully on the knife without having to stick your pinky finger in the finger hole to have a solid non-stressed grip (I have medium-sized hands). The knife itself is firmly integrated into the handle and the blade is sharp but no razor sharp. If you put enough force you can slightly move the blade from side to side and up and down which is a negative but not too bad for the price. Overall, I give this knife 4 stars for price, spring-assist swiftness, and sharpness but degrade it by a few points due to the size of the whole knife itself, the slightly wiggle on the knife. But again for the price its a good buy.

Good durable knife, beautiful finish, sharp blade.
Great blade, really sharp and strong. My only complaint is that the hinge has a slight tendency to loosen over time. It never fully fell apart though. I did lose a few screws, but that was after 3 years of ownership.

good unless you play with it.. ALOT
well I had this knife for about 2 months and loved it.. carried it everywhere and used it to open boxes, cut Velcro and other various things.. but I play with my hands a lot and played with this knife for a long time.. just flicking it open and closed.. well... in doing so.. I did it so much that the spring inside it slipped outta place.. if anyone knows how to take these apart or where I can go to get a replacement spring put in then please let me know because this knife is AWESOME!!I am probably going to end up buying another one soon if I can't get the one I have repaired..

Not too shabby...
I wasn't expecting much from this knife; I added it to another order so I could qualify for "super saver shipping". But for the money, it's very good. It opens a lot mores smoothly than the other pocket knives I've owned, and the blade is *very* sharp. My only complaint is that it's kind of bulky in your pocket, width-wise. I've thought about taking a dremel tool to remove the plastic "grip" bit, to fix this, and then replacing it with some kind of grip tape. But that'd be way too much engineering effort for a sub-$10 knife.

Surprisingly high quality for the price
This knife turned out to be considerably better than I expected. I wanted to get this for my girlfriend as a surprise for her since she has been learning how to use a knife in self defense recently. To my surprise this knife is incredible well built for what I was expecting. The blade doesn't look noticeably low quality, hasn't chipped or dulled much with use, and came relatively sharp already. The spring assist works perfectly out of the box and I can honestly say that my expectations of a knife this cheap in price has been thoroughly been exceeded. I will add more later on if I find any problems with this knife. The knife clip also sits high on the knife, leaving very little of the knife sitting out of the pocket, making it more discrete and less likely to get caught on anything.

All screws came out.
When the knife arrived I was very pleased with it. Appears to be a great knife. My uses are truly very limited-occasionally opening returns from clients by cutting the tape on the package. I would guess I cut tape & some cardboard if needed about once per week. Within 4 months the first screw came loose and I noticed it in time so I simply tightened it. A couple months following that, screws came out without me noticing. I guess they simply came out while in my pocket. Within six months I am having to discard the knife. Due to my extremely limited use of this knife, I would not recommend it to anyone who is actually going to use it for anything.

Clip came off
The knife is great and made of good materials it is very strong and sturdy. The only problem I have with it is that I've only had the knife for 36hrs and the pocket clip came off that's why it's only 4 stars. Other than that it is a very well made knife.
