Grow Light Stand Rack

Setting up my indoor grow for perpetual harvests I needed a cheap and simple way to hit the vegetative growth phase of my plants on a shoestring budget so I can focus my finances on the flowering phase equipment to come. This was the idea inspired by listening to the Dude Grows Show on youtube and patreon. Just think outside the box. This isn't tall enough so I'll stack something underneath the legs to raise the height. Worried about where to find a replacement bulb but will worry about that another day. I put a gardening mat underneath my plants. They seem very happy under this light and have started to grow already. When starting a new grow most tend to over-buy and buy high wattage lights for the veg state. High wattage isn't needed. This worked out incredibly well for my needs and kept me on budget at a critical phase.

This is exactly what I needed. I'm not sure if it's enough light for the number of plants I have but the plants appear to be happy. First, it was very easy to put together. In 10-15 minutes I had it up and running. I think it took longer to remove everything from the packaging then it did to put everything together which means...there was enough packaging to keep everything safe! I place a lot of plants on my porch during the summertime. Although I have lots of windows, in my house, there's very little surface area to display them. So, I move them down into the basement where I have two large windows. I've been covering the windows, during the winter, to keep the cold out. I needed this light to help keep the plants alive during the winter. I've attached it to a timer so I don't have to worry about turning it on or off. My brother requested one to use in his basement for his floral business. I purchased the same unit but the light box can hold two lights (made by a different company).

As described, light was broken on both when they arrived but that was from the delivery people throwing the boxes around. Boxes were heavily crushed in on one end when we received it. Even after that bad treatment, the frames and hanging ropes all were fine. This company packaged them well enough to with stand heavy abuse. I just bought two lights and moved on. These work great and the adjustable setting works great even though FedEx did their best to wreck them.

Delivered fast. All pieces fit together with minimal effort, and tightened down to feel very stable and firm. Bulb lit up and is pleasantly bright. I expect this will be an excellent tool to assist in starting my seeds for my garden this year. One small gripe (small enough that it doesn't warrant removal of a star)? The power cord does not fit well between the light fixture and the stand, and so the light does not hang parallel to it's support bar, but is instead about a half inch to an inch to the left of the far support, and to the right of the near support. This is a very mild annoyance, and I highly doubt that it will affect anything in any way, but it seemed worth saying.

Price vs value I think this one is a winner. Mine doesn't have a terrible wobble like others said. But I think you could just drill in some self tapping metal screws in the corner were the legs insert into the top bar) to stop it from wobbling if that is a issue for you. Light is fine, probably not awesome but like I said Price vs value. It's not some top of the line setup but it works for starting my veggies and fruits early so I can get a good harvest in my short Minnesota growing season. (Getting longer every year ty global warming!)

Easy to assemble, functional, but perhaps a touch cheaply made. I have no real problems with this indoor grow light. In fact, I'd buy a second unit. The quality suits the price, and that's fine by me. My three-star rating is purely a reflection of the quality of the product. It's okay. And there's nothing wrong with that. This grow light features two legs with footings about 18" long, and a crossbar from which the light fixture hangs by a pair of adjustable ropes. The light is easy to adjust up and down as your seedlings grow. Assembly is easy as well. A bolt in each footing is the only tool work you'll need to do. The legs pop into the crossbar, the light fixture is clipped on, and that's it. But there are two problems: First, my unit is completely uneven. It wobbles and sits cockeyed. It wasn't an assembly issue, either, it's a manufacturing issue. That's not a huge problem, it doesn't impede the functionality, but it's certainly an annoyance. Second, the legs just pop into the crossbar with nothing to hold them in place. That makes assembly easy, but it also makes moving the unit a minor hassle. If you grab it by the crossbar, the legs can just fall out. Incredibly annoying. Be mindful so you don't end up breaking your light. Still, $50 was the best grow light price I found on here for a unit this size, and it DOES get the job done, So the three stars means what it's supposed to mean: this product is fine and does what it's supposed to, it just doesn't necessarily deserve a rousing endorsement. Nothing wrong with that. I'd buy one again, understanding exactly what I'm getting,

Love this grow light. Easy set up and works well. I use it in conjunction with an electrical outlet timer to give my plants ~16 hours of sunlight. They've been growing a lot better, especially during the winter months. Best part is that the light doesn't produce too much heat, which is good for plants that may burn easily. And the watt to lumens ratio is relatively low, so for the amount of electricity it costs, it produces a lot more light. I've since bought another one and am twice as happy!

2nd Edit: having no other option but to use what i had already paid for, I started using this again for 2019, it made it a month then completely stopped working. Burnt out 3 lightbulbs due to some sort of short or something. This thing is a waste of money. Edited to add: I had this set up going for 4 months, first to grow some lettuce indoors, which failed miserably. Then I began using it for my seedlings to prepare for outdoor planting. This product does not work as I had hoped. Even completely wrapped in car visors, my seedlings were not receiving enough enough light to grow. I had better luck putting them on a table in front of my window. This DOES NOT cast light very well, light is very centralized and you will have to have this right on top of your plants in order for it to have any chance of working. If you have multi sized plants the smaller ones will not benefit. Overall, I am very disappointed with the performance of this product and wish I had kept with my plan to return it. First review based on assembly: Super easy to put together, I am experimenting with lettuce and spinach indoors since I am in zone 6b. The main use will be early next year when we start our seedlings for our outdoor garden. I used two car visors from the dollar store to help with the reflection and will probably put one in front as well just to keep all the light contained. Overall, great product, time will tell how the bulb will work

Easy assembly. Small footprint. Simple system to change height instantly. Works well with my wifi plug for timed on/off. Generates a little heat, bit that's not a problem for seedling starts. Reliable. No issues what so ever.

I really like it.At first i was having hard time lighting it because the flourescent bulb is a bit loose.But as days go on it is working well now. Thanks.Alda

I found this to be an easy to set up and effective product. I have had several seed trays under the light and I can see good growth when compared to my other plants relying on window ledge sunlight. Arrives in a compact box and I can see myself easily storing this in the off season. I did some price comparison shopping before selecting this and I find it is a great value as well.

Not terrible to fix, but without duct tape or tight knots, this light is 100% useless to me. The lock mechanism on it's pull-rope to raise/lower the light is broken. The light just falls to the ground unless tied up or taped up. Not impressed. Sorry but I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
