Pay a little extra for a timer that works-- great for freelance hourly billing
I bought two different timers off Amazon, both of which did not work. I was getting pretty frustrated, when I saw a Therm Pro brand timer. I have had a Therm Pro thermometer and humidity detector in my office, and it has worked great, for years. For that reason, I ordered this one. True to brand, this Therm Pro timer works great. Unlike normal lab/kitchen timers, it counts up beyond 99 minutes; it has an hour column so you can turn it on when you start working, press "start/stop" when you switch to a different job or task, or go to lunch or whatever, and then press the same button and it will start counting up from where you stopped. Easy to get a final count of your hours by the end of the day. I love that it is simple, but this might be a minus for some people-- if you are switching between billable hours at different jobs in the same day and need multiple channels, then you will need to buy more than one and use one for one job, one for another. At its reasonable price, this will not be a big problem for me if I need it.It's magnetic, so you can stick it to the side of filing cabinets or any metal surface that's within reaching distance of your workspace. It's simple, very readable with big numbers, and works well. Great freelance work timer.

This is the timer you want - those others are junk
This is the timer you want. I bought five different timers, and this was a one-horse race. It's a good, quality design, the numbers are large and easy to read, the time is easy to set, and it doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart if you look at it the wrong way.Seriously, those other timers in this price range you're considering? Junk. I suffered through buying and testing them so you don't have to. THIS is the timer you want.

Replacement timer provided by seller works great !
UPDATE 2: Been using the replacement timer the seller provided. WORKS GREAT! Been using it for two weeks now with no fade in brightness display. Love the timer. Good size, screen lights up when pushing buttons. Volume adjustment is good. Feels good in your hand, and magnets keep it where you put it. Doesn't beep when pushing buttons, but I can live with that.UPDATE . After my review I was contacted by the seller. The customer service was excellent and prompt. They sent me a new timer which I received yesterday. Hopefully it won't have the same issue. We use the timer several times a day. I've had to replace the batteries twice now after about a week. Also, it does NOT beep when you press buttons to set it. The screen brightness starts to fade after a couple days, and the timer is not very loud, both probably have to do with the dwindling battery power.

Has options and some frustrations
I got this timer after looking at a lot of cheaper ones because this one has a volume control. Now I know the volume choices are loud, very loud, and ear-splitting (and silent, which is a nice perk that I don't use). Is it too much to ask to have quiet option? I tried taping a folded paper towel over the speaker, but alas the sound comes out the sides just as much as out of the speaker hole. We are getting used to the loudness now.The timer works great. It is very easy to use the timer function. It is capable of more than that, but I have to read the manual again every time because nothing else is intuitive. One day I could not change the clock back to 12-hr from 24-hr, the clock just seemed to ignore me. Then it worked again a few days later. So maybe slightly glitchy? Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. The handle/stand flap eventually broke off (after about a month), so it is not super durable but OK. It's been dropped a few times and still works fine.

Exactly what I needed.
I was hesitant to buy these, based on all the complaint reviews. I’ve been a Thermopro fan for years with their dual remote probe, and handheld probes.I have three of the Habor timers, that work great. Sadly they’re gone from existence. I needed something louder, that was intuitive and had all the necessary features. These looked great. Again, I stalled based on certain reviews.I wish I got these sooner! Yes, level 3 is pretty loud. But I see that for outside use at the grill, which was my intent.4 audible settings:SilentLevel 1; similar to the Habor timer’s level, just these have a more pronounced pitch.Level 2; cuts over my kitchen hood high setting. Just the right amount of loud for my liking and can’t be missed in the other room.Level 3; I agree, too loud for inside (unless you really need it), but perfect for outside. Or just don’t use that setting. There is an activation chirp when batteries are inserted. Be ready for that. It is loud, especially if the rear faced speaker is pointed at your face.If you have a substantial kitchen hood (cfm din), and cook to music and/or you’re in the other room timing a bake or roast with the hood going, this fits the bill in my opinion. Not for everyone, but easy enough to return to Amazon. I’m keeping these!

Handy multi-feature timer bya reputable manufacturer
IT has all of the features that I use in a timer. Times up/times down. Start and stop timing. Large, legible numbers. Easy to operate once you get the hang of a couple steps. Kickstand or magnet attachment features allow options during use and storage (not using it). Basically, all good and at a reasonable price. No reservations here.

Keep an eye on how these are functioning or use a backup timer
For the price, I would have expected this to last longer than 10 months. Because this is 2 timers, the workload is split between them. I use them most often on the weekend, so over any given week, they are used a total of 6 times (3 each). A couple of nights ago, I made shortcakes and burned the heck out of them when I started to think I must have missed the timer going off. Today, I made bread. Same issue discovered when I noticed smoke in the kitchen. Timer had gone off, but there was no longer any sound (I tested it to see if it was just turned down or off... nope). entire loaf was charcoal by that point. I even replaced the batteries. Still no sound.
