Great Product Typical Permatex Quality works fantastic
Another outstanding Permatex product,. I have been in the automotive service industry for ovr 45 years until I retired and have used numerous Permatex product that entire time and I have never been disappointed in any of their product and this adhesive is no exception. Follow the directions and you will have outstanding results just as I did using this adhesive.

Super Tacky Adhesive!
This is the stuff! I had glued up some door cards and used Gorilla Glue contact cement and it just never really stuck good. After a couple of months watching it pull away I ended up ripping the foam backed vinyl off the cards to start over. In the meantime, I had this headliner I needed to put up so I ordered this stuff and commenced to give it a go. I have been working on this 1970 AMC Rebel resto for awhile and I thought working bondo was hard. Upholstery is a talent akin to voodoo I think. I follow directions pretty well and sprayed on 3 light coats on both the ceiling and my material, letting it dry 5 minutes between coats. My attempt would start in the center of the car and work my way to the rear windshield then work the front. Tip: DO NOT let whatever you are gluing fold together and touch! Somehow the left front side got folded over and that was all she wrote! It was STUCK LIKE CHUCK and as I tried to pull it apart, it destroyed the material. I got this because it was supposed to be heavy duty and be good up to 170 degrees - it gets hot in Texas - so it is indeed a very tacky, heavy adhesive. I expect that headliner to be up there well after I'm gone. Just take your time and make sure you have some helpers.

Works pretty good, if expectations are reasonable
My headliner by the passenger window was peeling off at the edge. After watching a few videos, I understood that I cannot expect an "as good as new" fix. This because this glue is really meant for a headliner replacement, in which the whole headliner is removed, along with the ceiling molding. This way, the new headliner can be applied to the moulding outside the vehicle, where you can spray the glue at the proper distance, so it doesn't stain the new headliner. Repair to existing headliners require spot spraying, in which the spray can must be close to the repair area. This causes the glue to stain the affected area of the headliner. That said, if your careful in re-applying the edge part of the headliner, and you've masked off areas you don't want to spray, the result will be an improvement over leaving the headliner just hanging down at the edge of the ceiling moulding. Suffice it to say, such fixes are for older vehicles that the owners are okay with a less than perfect repair.
