What’s better than being a bride/groom with class?
I love love loved this book. Used it for everything while planning my wedding and give it to all my friends when they get engaged. It tells you everything from how to address envelopes, make a seating chart, who gives speeches as what event, what to do in the case of a death in the family close to the wedding, etc. 10/10 recommend. Also if you take the plastic cover off, it’s a beautiful navy book that’s looks beautiful on a coffee table.

Very important book for every bride and groom
Keep traditional manners in weddings and pass this book book onto the younger set or keep it for mother's and father's of the bride and groom to use. It's so helpful, it really is. Also has beautiful photos and great ideas of how to plan, budget, co-ordinate and add gratuities for the wedding. I had no idea of all the people and how much they are supposed to be tipped 😳. It's a beautiful, helpful book that will be good for many years.

Very nice
I bought this book for my granddaughter. She had questions on what should be worn at a wedding.

The PERFECT engagement gift!
I received this book as an engagement gift 11 years ago, to be honest it was a previous edition which makes me feel about 100 years old. I used it so much during my wedding planning that my family, friends, and I lovingly refer to it as the "Wedding Bible". I laugh every time I think back to my husband and I disagreeing over how to handle something related to the wedding and my husband completely seriously said to me "Get out the Bible!". Ha! This is now my go to gift for anyone I love that has recently gotten engaged. I have given it out over a dozen times and every bride loves it as much as I did. It is beautiful and organized so well that you can easily just reference what you need quickly and move on. I highly recommend this as a gift for any bride to be you love.

Could have been more specific
There are areas of this book that could have been more detailed and less general. Overall a good field guide. There were a fair number typos in the book, which is not something I would expect for a professionally published book.

Excellent and Trustworthy Reference
My daughter is getting married in a year. She's a millennial and I'm a baby boomer. A lot has changed since I got married in the days when wedding invitations were still being engraved on plain white or ivory paper. I bought a copy for each of us--mine Kindle and hers paper. This book has already been helpful in terms of appropriate ways to communicate in this digital age. I expect this to be an excellent resource as we go through the planning process and the events around the wedding.

but it's wonderful to spot-check what's correct
I didn't sit down and read this whole book cover-to-cover, but it's wonderful to spot-check what's correct. The only thing I disagree with is the appropriateness of a cash bar. The book basically says if you have to do a cash bar for financial reasons, you should cut down on your guest list so you can do an open one, because you wouldn't have company to your home and then ask them to pay. But.... people do potlucks or BYOB house parties, so I disagree. Otherwise, this is great as far as understanding what's acceptable for complicated family dynamics and good timeframes for various activities/responsibilities.

A great resource
After getting engaged I went out and bought a bunch of different wedding planning resources, and all of them combined are not even as helpful as this book. Every tradition laid out, plus modern ideas, timing guide, detailed formalities and exceptions, answers to tons of scenarios, ways to trim your budget, and I’m sure there’s more I haven’t gotten through it all yet! Recently I used it to choose the wording for my invitations. Get this if you’re a detailed planner type.
