This does what it's supposed to with a proper shock cord-Bungee cord. We actually have a bungee tied going both directions to keep the brake block in a taught position. Our cord is more parallel with the zip line cable so that's why we have it tied off in both directions. Otherwise the recoil sends it back up the line somewhat and then there's a risk of getting caught in the bungee slack as you go back down.

Works as advertised
Installed it on the Zip line in our yard (~70ft run with a ~6ft drop, a little steep). Easy to install. clam shell approach lets you attach it without taking down your zip line. The block is substantial, and thus I expect it to last (basically) for ever. Met my expectations.

A no brainer, get this now.
Great product - well made. We purchased them for use at Summer Camp. It gets more than 200 uses a day for the last year and it shows little sign of wear.

Definitly Better than the white one
I definitly recommend getting this stopping block as opposed to the white one that comes with the kits. This black one is much more sturdy and doesn't wear down like the white one does.

Worth every penny
Works perfectly. Easy to install. Used bungee cord and wrapped other end around tree approx 2/3rds of way down the line (and 30 feet off to the side). Brings people to a perfect stop every time right before they would otherwise slam into the tree.

Works well
I had rigged up my own last year but it was falling apart on the other side of winter. This is expensive but very simple to setup and use.

Nice brake for the zip line.
We have a 90' zip line going at approximately 6 degree slope, so it is fast. We added this and a bungee cord so the kiddos wouldn't hit the tree. Works perfectly.

I needed something to help slow down my daughter's zip line and this item was perfect. I attached a bungee cord and tied it to a tree. Stops perfect every time!
