Nice set up!!! .All stills need a fine tune..Rite? Grease it up and go is what I say!!!
The media could not be loaded. I just received my still.. It was easy to assemble.. Sure some of the welds were a little sloppy and the lid on my thumper was a little dinged up BUT HEY.. For the money absolutely.. I say the dings give it a personality.. All stills need tuning .. Back in the day we made them with what we had and just made it work.. I did run it through its paces with just some water.. I went to 240 on the mash pot to hold a steady cloud in the thumper and clean it out... everything seemed to work fine... I will probably do some essential oils and hydrosol first Then on to my fave.......Rootbeer flavored nectar of the Gods in a nice sweetcorn mash.. Ill throw a few roots and birch bark in over my sarsaparilla and cinnamon... MMMM MMmmmm!!! Good stuff....Shhhhhhh!!!!

Great little still for the money
Used this still for the first time to test recipes for gin botanicals. It was easy to assemble except for one thing. I already owned a small pump (NOT INCLUDED WITH THE STILL) I use for my larger 13 gal. still. The tubing included with this still was slightly smaller than the connection point on the pump. It was a real struggle to get the tubing onto the connector but I finally managed to get it on and no leaks. I may change out that piece of tubing for the correct size in the future so I don’t have to keep it on the pump when I store it. If you are purchasing a new pump you should check the fitting against the size of the tubing to avoid this hassle. The other thing is the discharge port on the worm coil is really close to the top edge. It took some fine tuning to keep the cooling water from overflowing out of the condenser. The silicone gaskets on the ends of the steel hoses are really easy to lose when they fall out of the hoses so keep an eye on them and use the screw on end caps to keep them on the hoses. Overall this still served my purposes well for a simple pot still and would work well for a beginner not wanting a large cash outlay while they are learning the basics of distilling. The directions for assembling are terrible including the ones online which is a real disadvantage for a beginner. Having said that I still recommend it.

Good deal
Works great - I did first run to test it out with plain water, no leaks and didn't smell at all. Made a batch of brandy/grappa which took about 30 minutes for not quite one gallon. Definitely watch the Youtube videos. Easy to clean. UPDATE: Do not remove the potholder and screw in the center of the still pot...it did not seal 100% which I found when I next used it resulting in a small leak. I'll need to buy a food grade washer or plastic to wedge around the screw hole. Didn't leak before. ALSO, I used a pond pump affixed to the cooling coil pot.

Poor quality, builder has no clue about distilling moonshine
The craftsmanship is very poor, the worm pot is too small and the water inlet and outlets are way too small and placed too high on the pot the valves are poor quality. Placement and valve quality make it hard to regulate the water flow making it difficult to keep the worm cool. The thump keg is also way too small, it should be about 3 gallons but instead would be hard pressed to get a gallon in this pot. Save your money and convert a brew kettle and make your own worm and thump keg. Update! Ive distilled with this now and the lid is a sloppy fit and does not seal well, the clamps are too loose, the temp gauge is a sloppy fit and seal leaks at running temp. The valve used when fermenting is cheap and causes a steam leak when distilling. All in all this thing was a waste of money.

It works
The media could not be loaded. Easy to set up, easy to use. Made about a cup of drinkable stuff.Had to straighten the worm a little bit. The coil had a slight up-hill turn I had to bend down to get an even flow.I cut and used the hose provided as an adapter for a longer, clear hose.
