What Were the Salem Witch Trials? (What Was?)

My 8 year old loves these books! They are full of great information and easy to read and follow along. I enjoy reading them together and discussing the history in them!

Educational and simple to understand. Good, brief overview of the Salem Witch trials. Easy for family reading. Good lessons about life.

Only bought this for my classroom because I am a direct descendant of an accused person.

My husband and I have a Salem walking tour booked, and I wanted to refresh myself on what actually happened during the Salem witch trials. This book is a quick read, and gave me some historical sights to look for in case they aren't on the tour. Hopefully, my kids will be able to read this as they reach an appropriate age for the troubling aspect of our collective history.

Bought this not fully realizing it was for younger readers (I should have figured that out from the cover). Nevertheless, it was a good introduction to the turmoil of this period, and it inspired me to go on and read more about the history of this blight on early American history.

My children love the "Who Was/What Was" series and it's always fun for them to receive books that match special occasions - we ordered the story of the Salem Witch Trials for Halloween camping and we're so excited to learn about its history!

Brilliant book used it for home schooling my 10 year old during the Corona lockdown. We had just come back from Salem so it was fun to study this topic. Book is excellent for children and makes it all easy to understand with lots insert that discuss puritans and where they came from etc...
