It's not very heavy, but it does the job. The only problem I found with it is that the metal pieces that hold up the wooden handle get hot, so you have to be careful to not get burned.

Hot water and the dish cloth ..... but you should know that I oiled it lightly before use and after each cleaning.

Yes, mine was slightly seasoned. However, I seasoned mine again. Remove the handle, oil it, and bake it at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. Let cool in the oven.

Q: Before even using it I wiped a paper towel on it and grey cast iron residue came off. Is that normal? Is that harmful?

When you purchase pots or pans in a store and take them home, do you wash them before using them? Personally, I do, and you should with this as well.
