Book 5 stars, but Access to Patterns Confusing
The book is amazing (more on that later). The process to get the patterns is less than ideal.Because many reviews state that they can't access the patterns, I'll share what I found. To get the patterns, there is QR code. You scan it, and it takes you to a request form where you put in your email and choose your product from a list. Here's the key, in order to receive the patterns, you have to check the box saying you want to receive emails. We tried multiple times with multiple email addresses before realizing that box was for the downloads and not to sign up for newsletters. After that, the patterns arrived in our spam folder in about 5 minutes. The book itself is amazing. It has hand-sewing and machine projects. The projects build on each other and give kids multiple opportunities to practice a skill. Our kids (girl and boy) and are excited to get started on the projects. I have the very basics of sewing and have not felt confident about teaching them how to sew, but this book makes it very doable.

Easy for kids to follow.
Great book to guide kids. The projects seem easy to follow. I may buy the book with the spiral later. It’s hard to keep the book on the desired page.

Great introduction to early sewing!
My seven year old granddaughter got busy right away sewing a project! She is enjoying the book and looks forward to the projects!

Well written, poorly made
Very good step by step instructions but the book pages are splitting apart at the binding point. This book will not endure much time using as it is splitting and I haven’t flipped through the whole book.

No patterns!!!!!
My 10 year granddaughter was excited to see this book and immediately started working on a project. She came to show me her craft and said- there was something about a qrc code and a printer but I didn’t have either one so just made it up myself!!!What in the world? Where are the patterns? This is a children’s book! The ideas and explanations are fine but other children’s books I’ve purchased come with patterns.

Great information for kids
While I have been sewing forever, my granddaughter just started. I purchased a book for each of us and before we start the hands-on activity we both have to read the chapter. This makes it a smoother process as we do the projects together. She visits every other weekend or so. But I know when she comes with book in hand we’re gonna have a sewing weekend.
