Got these on a certain auction site, but only realised after they weren't the ns2 v2 (latest version) but were instead the first edition (ns2-presumably v1)Anyway, the only difference I have heard of is that the v2s can use Bluetooth, but if your looking for something to work with your ios /apple device, I can t see that being a big problem.Firstly, they are smaller than I expected, perhaps about palm size really, as if I place my hand over one, it covers most of it. - Not that its a problem, but good to know if your wondering where to place them. Personally, I wanted something by the tv, that I could use for music, but if I had something to watch on apple tv box, I could connect easily.Well on this count, I am very happy with them, as once I had downloaded the app and followed the instructions for setting up, the option to connect to the speakers popped up under the quick menu, so any time I'm at home, I can just swipe up, press play and change from iPhone/ipad speaker straight to the ns2, and then listen quickly and without messing about with the tv.This is a big bonus in my eyes! -Bluetooth speakers often need you to hold down a button and sync and need this almost every time The other advantage, is my wife who is on the same wifi, could also see them, so she could do the same without installing any extra app.And as the extra bonus I really liked, (which I may have already mentioned,) but if I switch on a show or movie on apple tv box, I can go to settings and change to the speakers, to give the sound a little more force than the tv speaker. - However, I haven't noticed that much improvement (on spoken word, like dramas etc, and its a little fiddilier to change volume compared to the tv remote, so I'm not sure how useful it is at the moment, but if there is a movie with a good sound track or a concert, it may prove better use for that.- although perhaps not better than proper 5.1 type speakers!Only thing I notice, is compared to Bluetooth, if I change song or stop, it seems to take a second to catch up. Also it takes longer for video to play than without the speaker. I believe because its using same wif, but it doesn't bother me as for music, I def see the advantage, as same music sounds quiet flat on my old sony Bluetooth, but could hear individual instruments on these. (However, bass wasn't very strong) I don't know if any of this is to do with this system of sending music over wifi, compared to Bluetooth, or just that the music is streaming direct from apple, and I would be interested to see how apples new music streaming thing will work with it ( although they advertise on the box that Spotify will work with it, but I can't' confirm that)Apart from that, I like how small and unobtrusive these are, how they add to music and can be used with or without tv. Its a shame they cant' be used directly with tv- perhaps digital out direct to speaker would be nice, but there is a headphone in point, so could just hook up from tv like that to boost sound, but perhaps wouldn't be greatest of quality-guessing there. Also, I went for the black ones, as it fits in with most peoples black tvs. I imagine the neon type yellow and pink colours would get a bit annoying after a while, but that's a superficial issue and wouldn't affect how useful these really are!Other bonuses are that it switches to standby after a few minutes, and if one device is using it, it stops any other from seeing it-which is understandable. The only thing I would love to see is perhaps within the app, an ability to change sound profiles to suit what your using it for, so perhaps tv shows could have one profile and music another (and if you could do this by genre it would really help) But right now, its just pretty good to be able to boost the sound of tv shows and get hifi sound from apple music and other stuff without having to mess around too much(literally takes a second to swipe up and change to this speaker instead-compared to Bluetooth, holding down and putting in codes every time), and to have it usable by every ios/apple device on the same wifi is just brilliant!Only final point is I would recommend these, but if these aren't in stock, I can't imagine why the latest versions(v2) wouldn't be even better!
