Orthotic inlays friendly.
RECOMMENDED PURCHASE.I have to wear orthotics for life, and these shoes are orthotics friendly. I wear them on daily basis along with suits. They are not the most elegant shoes but the most comfortable I have used. I have these shoes treated with black shoe polish paste and polish them every tree weeks and the leather keeps looking as good as new. I have owned a pair for 2 years and I had to change them due to not uniform light sole wear (caused by a foot condition) but the leather still looks as good as new.BTW I suffer from high arch (known as pes cavus or supinated feet) since childhood. After turning 25 and gaining weight this condition has contributed to lower back pain and sometimes plantar fasciitis (heel pain). To reduce these inconveniences, I have to wear orthotics for life, and I have irregular sole wear and finding a dress shoe that is friendly with orthotics it’s no easy task.Hope this review helps people with same conditions. Beware, orthotic should be prescribed by a specialist. These shoes don’t replace orthotic inlays, just are friendly with them.

The shoe I've been looking for!
I hate wearing dress shoes but have to for work. So whenever I travel for business I usually bring a pair of more casual shoes for going out on the town with colleagues as we often do after meetings. Wearing size 13-14 shoes means traveling with an extra pair is difficult. I wanted to find a pair of shoes that was business-attire appropriate (these aren't formal), wouldn't break the bank, and above all COMFORTABLE enough to wear all day/night. I tried Ecco and other supposedly all-day comfort dress shoes but to no avail. I was beginning to think such a shoe didn't exist. I overlooked these initially since the lower price made me think they couldn't possibly be as good or better than Ecco but after trying them on I was sold. THESE are the shoes I was looking for all along. I have never owned a more comfortable a pair of business/dress shoes. Now I just bring one pair of shoes on trips and if I go out on the town with colleagues I can just keep these on. I wouldn't wear them with a tux (i never wear a tux anyway) but they are fine for office/work, jacket and tie, presentations at meetings/conferences etc., and since they aren't patent leather (and even less shiny than they appear in the photo), they also dress down acceptably with jeans. I used to throw off my work shoes the instant I got home. After getting these, I started noticing that I would subconsciously keep them on all night. Now THAT is the ultimate indicator of comfort.

These shoes are heaven sent!!
Believe the reviews you read. These shoes are absolutely fabulous. They are incredibly comfortable and light. And, as my wife can attest, my feet don't seem to smell as bad after a whole day wearing them at work. As soon as I put them on I said, "Oh. Oh wow. These are nice." Initially I was unsure if I should get a 9 or 9.5. I usually wear a 9.5 in athletic shoes and 9 in dress shoes. I went with the 9.5 and I am glad I did. They fit and feel more like my athletic shoes. One of the first things I noticed after walking in them for a few minutes was how light they felt. So I went to my office at home and put them on the scale. My old shoes measured at 397 grams each. The new Rockports came in at a svelte 270 grams each. After walking in them the last few days, I can can attest that the reduced weight is noticeable.I can't speak to how they hold up after a long period of time, but I will try to give an update six months to a year from now. However, if you are in the market for a classically stylish and comfortable dress shoe to wear to work everyday, you should definitely consider purchasing this shoe. Very happy with my purchase.Update (May 29, 2019): It has been more than two years since I purchased these shoes and they are holding up very well. They have a few scuffs in the toe area but that's to be expected after near daily use for 2+ years. I will definitely buy these shoes again.

Not the same Rockport quality I'm used to
Shipping was on time, the shoe looks good and was in good condition (no scratches or defects) but the quality of the shoe seems cheaper than I'm used to from Rockport. The soles are thinner, shoe overall is very light which is not necessarily a bad thing, but the insole is terrible. It's very thin, has no arch support, no cushion at the heel or toe. I purchased Dr. Scholl's inserts for my last pair that was worn out and put them in these which make them much more comfortable. I didn't have to do that with my other Rockports till after at least a year and here I had to do it just to make it through the my first day. For my job I do a lot of walking so the insole arch support and comfort is very important to me.

Perfect pair of shoes!
I finally found the perfect pair of shoes. These are so comfortable and modern looking. In the photos you can see the difference in quality & style from a cheap pair of shoes I bought from a local men's store in my neighborhood because I needed something quickly. The pair on the left is traditional looking but I love how the lines on these shoes just blend in. Extremely comfortable!

Sharp looks, awkward fit for larger feet
I ordered 11.5 US, and these "bike toe" shoes fit perfectly without looking boxy, clowny, or overly pointed. The top and sides feel and flex right, and the sole is decent-even outdoors, but the heel cup is slightly too low for this size foot. When standing or sitting, these are exceptionally comfortable, but while walking, the edges of the heels give an abrasive rub. It may just be "out of the box" issues and the fit might improve after wearing in.The shoe itself has very little arch support, despite the overall "sneaker" feel. I'd add arch supports, but that will surely exacerbate the heel height issues...I'd classify this as a very comfortable- but practical- dress occasion shoe and not a great every-day commuter shoe.

Not recommended. I LOVE these shoes, repeat buyer. BUT insole wore out after 7 months!
I love these shoes and I've purchased them three times. I have chronic back and knee problems and personally these shoes are just what I need to survive the work day. However, much to my dismay, the insoles have worn out at the ball of my feet COMPLETELY after 7 months of M-F wear. That's crazy.I contacted the company the last time their insoles wore out and they told me they do not sell them separately, so unfortunately I'm going to have to find another brand.

Too expensive, not a lot of quality.
I own a lot of Rockport leather shoes. I use them everyday and as the years go by, the price almost doubled and the quality is almost half. The plastics are rigid and the leather thin, with barely any insulation. It doesn't feel like the Rockport quality that I used to feel for shoes that I paid a little more for. Those shoes feel exactly like shoes I bought a few years back for almost half the price.

Very light, decent quality, a bit narrow.
This is the lightest pair of leather shoes I ever owned. They weigh only about 250 grams, compared to about 400+ grams for most similar shoes I wear. Quality of upper seems decent, but it's not as soft as supple as, say, Ecco.As for size, I'm somewhat disappointed. Length is perfectly OK, but they're too narrow. I NEVER buy Wide size, as my feet are not wide. However, I should have bought this in Wide.

These Rockports good for plantar fasciitis!
I bought my first pair in the States and they were sooo comfortable I now understand why Rockports sell so well. I have a foot heel issue plantar fasciitis and these make walking in the office a breeze. So do yourself a favor and get these. I bought 4 pairs now!
