Neaty Can Opener (Red)

seems can openers are disposable these days, I have bought way too many over the last year or so. They all seem to work well in the beginning but then lose the ability to open a can within a month. And it seems the cost is not a factor as I have spent lots of money and time looking for a good manual can opener.With this can opener I may have found my nirvana, made in USA and a nice comfortable design. Locks onto the can cleanly and the handle is easy to turn. The automatic spring adjustment of the cutter works smoothly every time. I like this opener so much I bought one for mom.

I was disappointed that the rubber handles just slide off... it holds and cuts well, however. Sturdy construction.

bought this 3 years ago. no rust, still works like new. the rubber grips tend to fall off after maybe a couple years of use, but its not a big issue.a tip; its a right handed model. so, have the can on the left hand, and the can opener with your right hand. clamp down on it so that it makes the hole.THEN, switch hands so your left hand is on the can opener handle, while you turn the knob with your right hand.

I am extremely disappointed in this product. It is nothing more than an EZ-DUZ-IT can opener (that is also Made in USA) with a different grip. It says "EZ-DUZ-IT" on the can opener!We have not used it yet, but I will say the cutter makes contact with the other gear wheel and our first EZ-DUZ-IT does not. Our other EZ-DUZ-IT is horrible at opening cans. It leaves two distinct places on each can that are not cut....every can, every time.We will see how the "Neaty" version does. For now, I'm ticked off that I ordered something that was simply re-packaged for nearly twice the price. I know there's reviews on the EZ-DUZ-IT that describe our problem as well. Their Quality Control is lacking. Maybe this one is better, but at twice the price? What is Neaty doing? QC'ing the ones they sell and 'fixing' them??

Finally! I bought several different can openers simultaneously from Amazon hoping to fine ONE, just ONE, good one. They were all five star can openers, supposedly, and they were all horrible! I had one's handle literally fall off while lifting it out of the shipping box, right before my family's eyes! This is the only one I did not send back and it is still working about 4 months later with daily use. I know 4 months is hardly anything but with the luck I've been having with these stupid things, 4 months is knock on wood good! If it poops out I'm coming right back here and am going to rip it a new one!! I'm sick of chinese junk. So far so good on this one..

I am very disappointed in this product and truly cannot understand all of the positive reviews. I actually purchased the "EZ-DUZ-IT" can opener previously, did not like it so purchased this one, only to find out it is the exact same opener only more expensive! Very deceptive.This can opener does the same thing as the one I purchased previously: It never opens the lid all the way. If you're lucky it will only leave one area uncut and you can pry the lid off to pour the contents. Oftentimes, though, there are two uncut areas, and no matter how many times you go round-and-round, the areas remain uncut. It very, very rarely opens the lid one time around.The ONLY reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because it is made in the USA. I like that. And it seems heavy-duty. It just doesn't open cans very well. And the fact that I was duped is REALLY irritating. I will not be purchasing another one of these.

A can opener that works well, is easy to use and has a lifetime longer than a bottle of vinegar is almost impossible to find..... but here it is !!! I could not be more happy with my new favorite kitchen accessory.

This can opener is quite simply the best one I have ever owned. I do not like electric can openers and have tried various makes and designs over the years, none come close to the effectiveness of the Neaty. It is well constructed, heavy gauge and sharp enough to open ever can I use, great quality at a very reasonable price.
