B&M 70242 Throttle Valve/Kickdown Cable

Building a custom 1949 Chevy truck.Using a 700r4 (4l60) to 350 sbc with a Holley carb and it worst great and it's eady to adjust

Excellent, I thought it would not be long enough because of my aftermarket transmission but fits perfect.

I am pleasantly surprised. Not only is the cable adjustable, so is the housing. 'Universal fit' in my experience usually means it doesn't work worth a damn (like JAVA programming!). This is the exception to the rule. Fit my 350 V8 and 700R4 in my S10 perfectly once I adjusted to the required length.

Transmission not shifting right. Took to a shop and they replaced cable, said they've had problems with B&M cables. The shop suspects B&M may buy cables from someone else (making good tranny's but buying bad cables).

Length adjustment worked well.. however, had i known the end of the screw was a sharp point i would not have used it, or at least ground the sharpness down..... now after having to readjust cable length ONCE, the plastic covering on the cable has torn off and the cable itself is fraying apart.. name brand part, its now JUNK

Better built than the OEM part I replaced.

I like the flexibility of the cable. To change cable length etc. mine is a custom application. I think I would use facory if I did not have conversion done. It works though.
