Very nice condition Kit lens with quick shipping
A kit lens for a Sony A6000 APS-C camera... I do have the pancake kit lens for my camera but actually prefer this earlier lens due to improved sharpness and contrast for a very modest price. Yes the lens is bigger than the pancake style but you just may prefer it to the newer style pancake lens. The condition of the lens was very good upon arrival and being a Sony lens, the focus speed is very quick.

Excellent lens
When I got my NEX VG20 I only had the body. My next few lenses were prime without stabilization. These provide great results on a tripod. Then I got the Metabones adapter to put my 18-270 Tamron on the NEX, and I got stabilization but no autofocus during video shooting. So when I bought this 18-55mm OSS lens, my VG20 camera felt like a camcorder for the first time. Now, mind you, this is a 3.5 lens, you cannot use it to film in pitch dark, say, in a nightclub. But indoor with moderate light, the camera and lens combo delivers results better than my DSLR, not grainy at all. It's fantastic in daylight, of course, but that doesn't really mean anything, most lenses are. So for me, having autofocus, zoom to go quick from an establishing shot to a closeup, and stabilization is extremely valuable, and that makes this little lens one of the most valuable in my collection, even if it's not among the most expensive or most impressive-looking.

Nice lens
I've read a number of reviews that were a little critical of this lens but that seems to be fairly common with any kit lens. For my needs, this is a great walking around lens. It focuses quickly and precisely and gives me good photos. On top of that, I bought it used and got a great price.

Amazing investment as a beginner
I feel this lens is very versatile. I’m not a professional photographer. I chose more of a hobby and I’ve enjoyed my journey. These are pictures that I’ve uploaded from my most recent trip to Hawaii. Definitely satisfied with the results. It all depends on the user but for beginners, I believe this is a great lens to start. The auto focus is is amazing and the zoom quality it’s definitely impressing.

Great replacement lens! Its one of the many reasons I love buying used on Amazon!
I am a professional film maker creating Knife Making guides at KnifeMakerTraining.com. I film my father in law, a master smith, often working over molten hot metal or welding. Unfortunately some sparks jumped into my original lens and created a pock mark that burned into the glass. So I bought this lens to replace it and I love it just as much as I loved the previous lens. This is the Kit lens that comes with some older model sony cameras. But it has OSS (Optical Steady Shot) built in and works excellently with my Sony A6000 and my Sony A6300. My biggest suggestion is always check for used items here on Amazon and make sure they are shipping from Amazon. They have yet to let me down and I always get some great deals in the process!

Excelent Companion for the NEX Sony Camera. A MUST HAVE!
The lens is very light despite the size, very sharp image, focus and zoom handle is very comftable. Images are sharp as any othe rsony lens. The size is appropiate for the camera, I feared that it could be too long for a comfortable handling, but it's just perfectly designed.I recomend to buy a sleeve or a pouch or a case, because it doesn't come with it (I have bought other brand lenses for other cameras and they usually come with it). I'm very happy with my purchase as much i have been with my NEX camera, just love the whole package.

This lens is the best, smartest purchase I've ever made.
Ever. No joke. I have been shooting with a manual 50mm lens on my Sony A7RIII for no reason other than it was cheap and I'd just spent 3K on the camera itself. As soon as I was ready to buy a real lens and start to actually use my rig, I stumbled on this little baby. I thought the silver would make it look strange but it absolutely didn't, it's sexy af now, and the photos I'm taking are incredible. Someone told me I'm buying a kit lens, I showed that same person the pics I took with it this weekend and they ate crow, fast. Couldn't see any cosmetic damage or notice any usability issues, it was and is a beautiful lens that has changed my life no hyperbole.

Reasonable kit lens, mediocre image quality
I've been shooting with this lens for about a year now, and I finally feel like I have a handle on what works and what doesn't... then again, I am not a professional, so take this with a grain of salt. The #1 thing that I love about this lens is the image stabilization. I can take fairly long exposures (1/40 or so) handheld at a concert in low light, zoomed all the way in, and the image stays reasonably sharp (well, as sharp as it's going to get with this lens). If I take a handful of shots in a row, there's a pretty good chance that one of them might turn out okay; given what a tough situation concert photography is for any lens, that's fairly impressive.Where I was hoping this lens would shine, but it completely doesn't, is outdoors. If you're looking to zoom in and shoot it opened up (say you want some nice bokeh in the background), then you're going to be in for a nasty surprise later: the corners look blurry, and the subject isn't exactly crystal clear, either. In situations where you think it might be the easiest thing in the world for a lens, this lens performs disappointingly badly. Also distressing is how much of a pain it is to focus the lens manually. If you have a CDAF camera (i.e., not the new NEX-6), and you're frustrated with it hunting for focus, you'll be in just as much pain doing it yourself: the focus-by-wire just feels *slow*.Ultimately, though, none of the above matter, because if you want an 18-55, this is the lens that Sony makes available to you.Well.Maybe.Until Sony lets us mere mortals have the Sony SELP1650 16-50mm Power Zoom Lens.
